Let’s make an easy late summer into early fall centerpiece! Decorating for early fall is all about transitioning from summer into fall. It’s too early to bring out the pumpkins but apples are perfect to use in a centerpiece this time of year! This is a centerpiece that will look pretty for a long time!

This easy fall centerpiece uses the remains of the garden to let them splash their last hurrah of color in my home! The early fall elements will be replaced with bittersweet and wheat later this fall!

And it’s the time of year I like to show off the softer side of autumn using finds from the garden, orchard, and yard! If you are excited for fall, but not quite ready for pumpkins just yet this easy to replicate kitchen table centerpiece is just perfect for you!

There is such a beautiful simplicity about this centerpiece that sits on my kitchen table. It has a lovely artistic quality that speaks to my soul!

It’s so easy that you can make one for your table too even if you don’t think you are creative!

The centerpiece starts with a large galvanized metal tray.

You can use a tray or a big platter or even make this sweet fall centerpiece down the center of a burlap table runner.

GREEN APPLES AND MASON JARS-An early fall centerpiece with a soft-color twist.

I chose a few mason jars and small glass bottles to hold some little blooms! I simply lined them up on the galvanized tray and filled them with a little water.

If you want to make your version of this easy centerpiece use some pretty glass pieces. Mason jars, little glasses, tiny bottles. It’s all about a simple look.

The little globe amaranth I planted in May have become huge bushes of spiky round blooms. While much of my garden is languishing they are growing in a riot of whites and lavenders and purple!

Globe amaranth is also known as “strawflower” or “globeflower”. I’m not as fond of them when they dry, but fresh amaranth is so so pretty!

I added just a few blooms in each little make-shift vase!

To make your own early fall centerpiece use what you have around your home. Anything with a little color will work!

If you don’t have garden flowers how about Queen Ann’s Lace from the roadside or little mums from the grocer’s?

And lastly, I placed some green apples from the grocer’s on the tray. I’m particularly fond of this bright happy green color. It works so well with my black and white kitchen!

Apples are the perfect early fall decoration! And they will last a long time too!

We are so simpatico in our decorating schedule. Just this week I switched over my kitchen decor from lemons and herbs to sunflowers, cotton branches and green apples. I just needed a little hint of fall. Even though this Covid 19 is keeping our entertaining non existant I still like our home to look pretty and to reflect the season.
Stay safe and well. Thankyou for your blog. Still the first one I look for each morning.

    1. I think decorating should be for ourselves! I love to live in beauty! I’m so glad you are decorating for you too!

  3. I think I’ll use lemons instead. Not even close to want fall to begin!
