Decorating for early fall at StoneGable is transitioning from summer into fall. It’s using fall elements that shine like apples because it’s a little too early for pumpkins! It’s using the remains of the garden and letting them splash their last hurrah of color in my home because soon they will be replaced with bittersweet and wheat! And it’s the time of year I like to show off the softer side of autumn using finds from the garden, orchard, and yard! If you are excited for fall, but not quite ready for pumpkins just yet this easy to replicate kitchen table centerpiece is just perfect for you!
There is such a beautiful simplicity about this centerpiece that sits on my kitchen table. It has a lovely artistic quality that speaks to my soul! It’s so easy that you can make one for your table too even if you don’t think you are creative!
The centerpiece starts with a large galvanized metal tray.
You can use a tray or a big platter or even make this sweet fall centerpiece down the center of a burlap table runner.
I chose a few mason jars and small glass bottles to hold some little blooms! I simply lined them up on the galvanized tray and filled them with a little fresh water.
If you want to make your version of this easy centerpiece use some pretty glass pieces. Mason jars, little glasses, tiny bottles. It’s all about a simple look.
My little globe amaranth I planted in May have become huge bushes of spiky round blooms. While much of my garden is languishing they are growing in a riot of whites and lavenders and purple! Globe amaranth is also know as “straw flower” or “globe flower”. I’m not as fond of them when they dry, but fresh amaranth is so so pretty!
I added just a few blooms in each little make-shift vase!
If you are thinking about recreating this centerpiece make sure you choose flowers that are the same type and about the same size. If you don’t have garden flowers how about Queen Ann’s Lace from the roadside or little mums from the grocer’s?
And lastly, I placed some green apples from the apple tree on the tray. I’m particularly fond of this bright happy green. It works so well with my black and white kitchen!
Apples are the perfect early fall decoration!
I love the overall soft and understated look of this early fall centerpiece!
Now, it’s your turn to get busy and create a pretty early fall centerpiece for your home!
The galvanized trays are such a fabulous buy!!! Check them out!
