Summer’s here. And it’s a time we bring out the red, white and blue to celebrate! Today I’m sharing a patriotic vignette for the patriots who don’t necessarily have or love lots of flag and 4th of July decor!

SIMPLE PATRIOTIC CENTERPIECE
Here at StoneGable we are patriotic to the bone! However, for this red, white, and blue kitchen table vignette I decided to use non-traditionally items to show off our patriotism!

Using different red, white and blue dishes and a little help from my gardens I made a simple and doable patriotic vignette!
First, I laid down a fun white table runner with blue ink spots.
What I love about this centerpiece is the only really overtly patriotic element are the two little flags. The whole vignette has a patriotic 4th of July feel because of the red, white and blue linens, tableware and flowers I used!

Next, I corralled all the dishes in a pretty round basket. This is the easiest way to create a focal point on your table. I almost always use a basket or tray as a part of my table centerpieces!

The first thing I put into my basket was a container of pretty garden flowers. I used what I had. My roses and hydranges were in bloom so I put them in a white container and voila… pretty red, white and blue in not so traditional shades!

I really debated about adding the tiny flags, but since Mary’s vignette had flags I decided to use them to pay homage to Mary’s beautiful image!

Then I started to “play with my dishes”. Because this is a kitchen table patriotic centerpiece I grabbed red, white and blue dishes and stacked them!
For me, nothing quite beats a stack of beautiful dishes! Do you see how ordinary dishes can take on a very patriotic look?
This is one of my favorite designer tricks! Never underestimate the power of a good dish stack, my friend! LOL!

What do you think about the striped theme? Cups, napkins…

And this super cute little vase? It’s little wonky askew top makes my heart sing. I love looking for interesting details even if they are barely noticeable!

Why don’t you create a patriotic centerpiece from red, white and blue things in your home! Easy peasy summer decorating!

How soon do you start decorating for holidays, such as the 4th of July, and how long do you leave your decor out?
Think of this type of decorating as summer decorating! I love to leave vignettes and add blue to my decor for the entire summer. However, please change up vignettes! They are easy to rearrange and they will look fresh!
Love this patriotic decor post Yvonne! I have been following you for awhile now and you never disappoint and always inspire! Just curious, what is your faith, church of worship? Thank you! Have a beautiful day! ❤️
Yvonne,
You have such a way vignettes. I adore all of your collections of china!
Thanks, Christy!
Yvonne, what a lovely centerpiece. The combination of red, white and blue dishes has just the right touch of patriotic flavor. Love the mix of patterns and your own garden flowers. Happy to have you join us on the Pinterest Challenge.
So much fun! I’m off to see your creation!
Yvonne, this is such a classy and sophisticated way to create a patriotic centerpiece! I picked up so many great design tips here. That little wonky vase makes me smile, too. I love details like that. Like you, I found some inspiration in my garden. Sometimes all we need to do is look around us to find the beauty waiting to be discovered! Happy to be hoping with you today.
Er…that was supposed to be “hopping” and not “hoping.” I guess we can hope together, too! Ha!
Love your dish stack, Yvonne! So pretty and patriotic with the soft reds, whites and blues I love ~ very ethereal with the roses and hydrangeas! I do stack dishes but forget to use them in vignettes. Thank you for the reminder. 🙂
Happy summer to you, off to check out your other patriotic posts,
Barb 🙂
I love a great plate stack and you never disappoint. You have to be the master of that! And I enjoyed how you show us that we can be patriotic without flags and sparklers, etc. Thanks so much for joining in. I love your interpretation of the inspo piece and patriotic table centerpiece.
Cindy, it was such a pleasure to work with such a lovely group of ladies! Thanks so much for including me!
I love the way you layered different patterns of dishware. So pretty and those checked coffee cups are adorable.
You always inspire me, Yvonne! Using dishes to create a patriotic centerpiece is right up my alley. Adding a flag to your vases filled with red and blue flowers is the perfect finishing touch to this pretty centerpiece. I am so happy that you joined in this challenge this month.
Yvonne, you are the QUEEN of beautiful patriotic tablescapes. I absolutely adore your collection of red, white and blue dishes. As I was writing my own post I linked to an old post where I had made the blue and white ticking napkins with mitered corners that references your tutorial. This was WAY back in 2010. We have indeed known each other forever and I am truly happy about it! 🙂
Of course, I always love your decor, dear friend! 😉 And, YOU are such an inspiration to me. I ALMOST went with a kitchen vignette, as well… we would have been twinsies with our striped blue dishware and vases. LOL! So glad we all did this challenge together… always fun!
I was tickled pink to see you were on this hop, Yvonne! Have been a subscriber for quite a while now and always enjoy your decorating tips. My neighbor had recommended your blog to me years ago, and I’m so glad she did! I’m swooning over your garden hydrangeas and roses and how they create the red, white and blue with the dishes. Yes, a stack of pretty colorful dishes can make the day, indeed!
How fun. A perfect stack. I’m so glad you are a part of our Pinterest Challenge. Welcome. I love it.
Love your patriotic centerpiece, the dishes are adorable.
