ON THE MENU WEEK OF MARCH 1ST

WHITE AND GREEN PLACE SETTING

What are you having for dinner this week? I have a week’s worth of delicious and so easy recipes On The Menu March 1st. I’ve done the planning for you! So choose from 25 scrumptious recipes this week!

When March comes around my mind starts to think about food like asparagus and leeks and chives! Our local farm market Meck’s Produce carries wonderful fresh fruits and veggies grown locally or in their hydroponic greenhouses or right from their fields.

They are always my first stop to get delicious and sustainable groceries!

Soon their quaint and pretty store will be filled with fresh Lancaster county asparagus, leeks. rants and more!

This week’s menu although not spring is chocked with flavors we all love!

Now, here’s what’s on the menu week of March 1st.

MONDAY

I love a good, flavorful casserole! And I love almost any recipe that has the words “French onion” in them! So this is a must-make recipe here at StoneGable! A big thank you to Holly at Life In The Lofthouse! I can’t wait to make this recipe!

TUESDAY- SOUP DAY

Every week I make at least one pot of soup for dinners and lunches the next day or two. Tonight’s soup from Dash Of Sanity looks gorgeous and so delicious!

Instead of using cream I’ll be using a combination of milk, evaporated milk and plain greek yogurt. This combination tastes so delicious and is creamy like heavy cream in a recipe.

WEDNESDAY

Tonight’s dinner is a tasty one!!! A big thanks fo Lauren at Tastes Better From Scratch! I love her recipes!!!! And I’m a huge fan of Tex-Mex food! Lauren’s recipe calls for hamburger meat. If you don’t have hamburger use chicken or make it with extra refried beans!

I’ll be adding shredded lettuce to the top of my Mexican pizzas! Delicious!

THURSDAY

Carrie and Cade are the adorable couple who blog at Oh, Sweet Basil and where tonight’s recipes comes from them!

I love a loaded baked potato but they are just too much for me as a side dish. So, why not eat them as a main dish!!! A big loaded baked potato and a yummy salad is a great, filling meal!

FRIDAY

Here’s a pretty way to make lasagna! I think these lasagna inspired roll-ups are just perfect for a weeknight meal and are so company-worthy. A beautiful and delicious recipe from Chelsea at Gal On A Mission!

SATURDAY- BREAKFAST FOR DINNER

Bobby loves breakfast for dinner when it’s on the menu! Breakfast is his favorite meal. And my favorite breakfast that I only eat a few times a year is sausage gravy and biscuits! So tonight’s menu is a win/win!

A big thank you to Lauren from Tastes Better From Scratch for the great recipe!

SUNDAY

I can’t wait to try this gorgeous recipe from Prasanna at Savory Bites Recipes! I’ll be trying my hand at making shrimp fried rice hopefully as good as my favorite local restaurant! I’ll make tonight’s recipe with lots of extra shrimp. Bobby loves shrimp!

Thanks, Prasanna!

SWEET TREAT

This week I’m making a galette. Oh, I think a galette is a beautiful thing.

Really it’s a lazy way to make a pie but I think it is so so pretty! The fruit bubbles up and is rimmed with golden crust!

I have a recipe for a rhubarb galette but I’ll be making a strawberry galette instead.

Any fruit will work with this recipe!

Great recipes, Yvonne! We’re going to do the shrimp tonight and will try the others, too! Thanks, again, for all you do to bring us these great menus! Stay safe. We pray for you and Bobby. I’m sure Bobby is getting tired. Bless him for being such a wonderful Doctor — and you, too, Yvonne for being such a wonderful wife! God bless you both in a special way this week! Appreciate you so much.

  3. Great job choosing this week’s recipes. I saved practically all of them. Can’t wait to get cooking!

  4. Thanks for sharing your menu!! I pinned a few recipes!! I am awful at menu planning (I have SUCH good intentions) but I just do no follow through! Excited to cozy up this afternoon and read through your menu planning posts!! I used to link up to your link parties and your blog just came to mind so I thought I’d come back and check it out! Stay well!! Xo

Good Morning Yvonne!! I have made the French Onion Beef Casserole and it is wonderful. I added onion & green pepper to the ground beef when browning and added some mushrooms to the recipe.
Love to see the new and wonderful recipes each week. Wishing you a wonderful wekend!

  6. Yvonne another great dinner idea line up.
I look forward to seeing your menu plan each to help me plan mine for the following week.
You mentioned for the Italian Sausage Soup you use a combination of milk evaporated milk and Greek yogurt instead of heavy cream. Can you please share your portions of each of your substitutes. I do WW and it would reduce the points of the heavy cream in the original recipe.
Thanks for all you do. Love your blog. I’ve been a follower since it’s beginning.

    1. I use 1:1 ratio. But it is not rocket science. Experiment and see what tastes best to you.
