ON THE MENU JAN 20TH

TABLE SETTING

It’s bitter cold here at StoneGable and the Tanglewood house! So I’m cooking up warm, comforting food this week! I love these cold days because we keep the fire roaring and I cook lots of soups, stews, and this week, food in the air fryer! Let’s look at what’s on the menu…

See all my kitchen essentials and what I use in my kitchen HERE.

MONDAY

Thanks, Stephanie from the Cozy Cook. What a yummy chicken recipe! Chicken and mashed potatoes are a comfy food combination we love!

Here at StoneGable cooking is all about THE SAUCE! And because I am air frying the chicken there is really no glorious pan dripping to make a sauce.

I think every home cook should be able to make a great pan sauce to drizzle on meat. It takes it to a whole different level.

I have lots of different pan sauces in my repertoire! Lemon, yogurt, white, and a light gravy type sauce and more! They take only a couple of minutes to whip up and really should show up on the dinner plate!

The pan sauce in today’s recipe is a great place to start without any pan drippings!

TUESDAY

I’m really giving my air fryer a workout! Two days in a row. All these recipes can be made in an oven as well. I try to find scrumptious recipes that have oven or broiler directions as well.

A truly beautiful recipe from The Pickled Plum.

Just wait until you see the glorious Spinach Brown Rice Loaf I’ve chosen to compliment the salmon. The plating will be beautiful! Remember we eat with our eyes first.

I’ll cut a slice of the Rice Loaf and cross it with the salmon and then top if off with the arugula salad. Oh, beautiful yum!

WEDNESDAY- SOUP DAY

I have a whole chicken in my freezer that is squawking to be made into soup!

What better soup for a cold day than THE BEST CHICKEN NOODLE SOUP YOU WILL EVER EAT!

This recipe has been passed down in my family from generation to generation. It is the best you will ever make! There are a few tricks that almost guarantee perfect soup! If you have the time, this is one thing you should make this week.

It freezes wonderfully!

BOWL OF CHICKEN NOODLE SOUP

THURSDAY- SLOW COOKER DAY

Today’s main dish is one that could easily be a StoneGable favorite!!! It has pasta! And we all know Bobby loves pasta! I’m adding 8 Grandma Lo Bianco’s meatballs (from the freezer) into the mix.

I might add a bit more pasta sauce to make sure the meatballs have enough sauce to soak up.

If you have never made Grandma Lo Bianco’s famous meatballs you should! They are tender and so so delicious! And they come with quite a story!!!!

FRIDAY

Okay, doesn’t this chili look amazing? I know!!!! And it is only ZERO, 0, NADA, ZILCH points without the toppings!

I’m going to love this recipe! And probably make it a ton too! If you watching your points you will love this chili! And those who are not… will love it too!

SATURDAY- FAMILY EASY LUNCH

We are having family here this weekend and I’m going to make a lunch that feeds a crowd but does not take up a lot of time!

I think all food looks better rolled up! And these pinwheels are delicious and look so pretty! What a great way to make lunch (or easy dinner) for a crowd!

SUNDAY- FAMILY DINNER

I love the idea of a family dinner. A time to gather with good food and lots of family!

A roast is an easy thing to make when feeding a crowd because it does not demand lots of time fussing with it! And it makes my whole home smell fabulous!

If we are lucky there will be leftovers for lunches or maybe a dinner next week.

TREAT OF THE WEEK

This week’s sweet treat is for breakfast. When our children were little we had “donut Sunday”. The kiddos could pick out the donut of their choice at a local shop on Saturday to eat on Sunday morning before church.

This was selfish on my part! It was an easy way to get a glass of milk and a piece of fruit (and a donut) into them before we all scooted out to church without losing my religion! LOL!

I can’t wait to try these easy and wonderful breakfast treats from The Country Cook.

HERE ARE A FEW OTHER RECIPES I’M LOVING THIS WEEK…
