FRIDAY
We will be feeding a crowd today! So we are taking a big U-turn from yesterdays Thanksgiving feast and going easy Tex-Mex! A big thanks to Tidy Mom for today’s main dish!
We have such a fun day after Thanksgiving tradition. We send all the boys in our extended family out for breakfast, baby boys and all. And then they go on a hike.
The girls, in their jp’s (and that’s important), pull out all the Thanksgiving leftovers and eat only what we love. For me my plate will have stuffing and gravy, a little Turkey and not one single green thing on it! Lisa, my sister who is a gourmet cook and an ex-chef, will eat the Green Jello salad! Go figure! And we will drink coffee and chat and laugh and read decorating and cooking magazines! Four generations of women! I almost love this more than Thanksgiving day itself!
- BLACK BEAN AND CHEESE QUESADILLAS
- SHREDDED LETTUCE, TOMATOES AND SOUR CREAM
SATURDAY
Our family LOVES chili! But not all of my extended family loves beef. So this chicken chili will be perfect for a dinner around the fire pit. How fun! Thanks, Yummy Healthy Easy for this scrumptious recipe!
- EASY CROCK POT CREAM CHEESE CHILI
- CHIPS AND SALSA
SUNDAY
As I said above, my sister is an AMAZING cook! And her paella is one of her best dishes. It also feeds a crowd. Hopefully, she will shae this recipe with StoneGable readers in the new year!

- CUCUMBER SALAD
TREAT OF THE WEEK
This cookie is going to be a real treat for my daughter in law. She has gluten sensitivities and loves chocolate. Thanks, Serena Bakes!
Have a scrumptious week, my friends!
Do you remove chicken breast and shred when chili is done. I can’t wait to try recipe.
I will break it apart!
I was just wondering last night if there was a way to make the gravy ahead of time. Can you share this recipe?
Hi Ruby and Deb G. The recipe comes from Cooks Illustrated the Holiday issue. Hope this helps.
Enjoy Thanksgiving with your family, you are blessed to share the day with them.
Do you have a recipe for the make ahead gravy?
What? No potato filling on your Thanksgiving menu? I thought that was mandatory in Lancaster county! (Joke)
Have a great holiday with your family.
Cindi (a former Berks County resident)
Yes, it is but we are not originally from Lancaster. Just transplanted 38 years ago.
I’m lying in bed and a bit hungry. Perfect time to read recipes. I pinned three this week. I have to pin more exact now. I’m forgetful! I’ve never made chili this way so I’m game to trying thiscfun easy way!! I’ll add my secret veggies that I must sneak in but that one uses chicken and black beans is a new treat. I’ve never put cream cheese in chili either so it shall explode my tastebuds. Yay for keeping us planning even from our bedsides! Happy Thanksgiving ?. Gwen
Gwen, you make me giggle! I’m hungry creating this menu!
