What did you have for breakfast this morning? I had OATMEAL! Not the instant kind, but the real deal, The stand-over-the-stove-and-stir cooked oatmeal. I added milk and a little brown sugar and almonds and dried fruit. YUMMY!
I don’t eat oatmeal just because it is a delicious breakfast it is also a powerhouse of protein, iron, and fiber. It gives my body energy, fills me up and helps me stay healthy.
It’s good for me and a good thing to do in the morning! Spending time with God in the morning is a whole lot like eating oatmeal for breakfast.
Just like oatmeal God’s word has its benefits…
It’s good for us. Nourishing us by teaching us, showing us where we are getting off track, feeding us the truth, and training us to be in right standing with God! And more!
God’s word is spiritual food! We need it to be spiritually healthy!
Just like breakfast, we need spiritual food in the morning to start our day off right and keep up fed!
Skipping breakfast is bad for our physical health and skipping time in God’s word is bad for our spiritual health.
So eat your breakfast and spend time with God daily!
It’s good for you!
This week’s verse to think about:
THY WORD IS A LAMP UNTO MY FEET AND A LIGHT UNTO MY PATH. Psalm 119:105
Amen and thank you for your faithfulness, Yvonne.
Getting up and offering Him my day is a pretty good way to start my day. And then breakfast to be full of beans the whole morning.
A hug and thanks again for sharing your heart with us,
Charo
The most special time of my day is meeting with my Heavenly Father. I don’t want to do this life without His leading and guidance. Starting the day in His presence keeps me grounded. Psalms 91 speaks of the benefits of dwelling in the secret place of the Most High and there is no place I would rather be each morning. Bless you sweet lady.
I have enjoyed a study of Psalm 119 recently. There is so much to learn in that one chapter! Today’s verse echoes so much in Psalm 119. Several times it praises God for His word.
Beautifully said and so very true. Thanks for the reminder. Have a blessed day.
Thank you so much for sharing God’s Word! You are so right, we must start our day off right. Our life must line up with HIS Word each day.
wow! So awsome!
Great word !
Your spiritual words today are inspirational as are your design tips and lovely tablescapes. My favorite is the four-bottle walk when you are spiritually dried up. I sent the link to my priest as it seemed like such a good way for adults to spiritually replenish. Keep these spiritual gems coming. I love them
what is the four bottle walk? 🙂
A “four bottle walk” is a walk that you must drink 4 bottles of water to survive it.
I love both in the morning oats and bible they go well together. I just read the 119 the psalm last week I always look forward to your post thank you so much for the inspiration
Excellent post with one of my favorite bible passages. Prayers for a beautiful Sunday with family.
Thank you, Yvonne, Yes God’s word is food for our soul and the way you deliver his word, his message is so rewarding , you my Dear have found your calling. Have A Blessed Sunday And May You Enjoy Your Family This Father’s Day.
Good morning Yvonne
I look forward every morning to spend time with God in prayer, scripture, and coffee. It brings me peace and focus for the day. Some mornings I do all the talking but I’m learning to not talk so much and just be still and listen to him speak to me. When I do I hear what I need.
Thank you Yvonne for your beautiful heart. Now I’m off to 10:00 Mass.
what a beautiful way to begin the day. 🙂
