SIVLER AND GOLD CHRISTMAS HOUSE TOUR, PART 2

This year’s Christmas decorating had lots of trees, little houses with shiny rooves and a bit of glitz and sparkle! Yesterday I shared the first part o my  Siver And Gold Christmas Home Tour and today I’m taking you to the back part of our home. It’s a bit more casual and comfy! So please come in and look around! I’m so glad you are here

This year I took a softer and less cluttered approach to Christmas, at least in the family room, breakfast nook and kitchen. StoneGable will be packed to the rafters with company and overnight guest until after the New Year so I wanted the most lived in part of our home to be easier to maintain and entertain in.

I hope you have enjoyed yesterdays Christmas Home tour of the living room, foyer and dining room. If you missed it you can see it HERE. Here’s a little peek…

Those of you who have been part of the StoneGable community for any time know that I start decorating for any new season or holiday with my mantel. It plays a large part in the setting the mood for the rest of my home. It all started with finding a cut out wooden village!

See the rest of the story and the whole mantel HERE.

I painted a dozen or more little paper mache houses to work into my Christmas decor. And I silver or gold leafed the rooves. Oh, they are so so pretty in real life!

We just put a new area rug in the family room. I loved my sisal one but it was hard for the little ones to play on. This rug is so soft! And because it is a wool rug it can take a lot of punishment and still look great. Another perk, it’s reversible!

Our new sofa came with two pillows and I was able to select the fabric. I LOVE these pillows! I would really like another pair for my master bedroom, they work so well up there too. For now, I’m keeping those ugly arm protectors on the sofa. Remember I now have a house of little sticky fingers and two big dogs.

I have very little evergreen in the family room this year. Instead, I opted for the soft look of seeded Eucalyptus. Such a pretty, billowy look, don’t you think?

I’ve been collecting Mongolian pillows for about four years. This is why I love them…

You can see more Christmas decor in my breakfast room and information about beautiful live wreaths and centerpieces from Lynch Creek Farm HERE.

Christmas is less than a week away and from my home to your… MERRY CHRISTMAS!

What a lovely gentle and peaceful home you have created this year. Very relaxing though that is a bit of an oxymoron to take of relaxing and Christmas in the same breath!! Merry Christmas to you and your family from the Southern Hemisphere and I hope you have a fantastic 2019.

  22. I LOVE your new sofa and your rug. Would you mind sharing the details of the brand and how comfortable, fabric care, etc….guess I need just a post on the new sofa and rug! 24. Beth Pozzini Putz says:

    Dear Yvonne,
I LOVE the white and ivory!!! I LOVE IT ALL! And may I just say, I would be happy to buy ALL of your furniture that you are no longer using!!! You have incredible taste, and I would love to have anything in my home that you have, or have had. I can’t wait to see everything lit up at night…as always, so warm and inviting! Thank you for this post. I was feeling low motivation and a bit gloomy today, and you lifted my spirits greatly! Merry Christmas to you and all of your beautiful family!

    1. Thank you so much Beth! I almost hate to say this… I’m only photographing a small part of my home at night this year! The family came early!

  25. Yvonne, Your home is beautiful at all times of the year but you have out done yourself for Christmas 2018. Love the new rug and had to laugh about the reason or the change. Grandbabies and let’s definitely change how we decorate. But they are so worth it. Thank you for all the pleasure and information you have provided me with this past year. You still remain the first blog I open and you always make my mornings a little more enjoyable. Merry Christmas. Kathy

  26. The rooms look lovely, light and airy.Is that a new table in the breakfast room ?

  27. Cecilia from Georgia says:

Your home is beautiful but also comfortable. I think it is important to be able to enjoy a home so everyone feels comfortable lounging around. You have accomplished both beauty and comfort throughout your home. Have a wonderful time with all those grands…especially the babies. Merry Christmas XOXO

  28. So brave with a white sofa! If I had a dime for every time I’ve picked up or straightened out the arm covers on our sofas, I would be a very rich lady. I love the look of white but this last time around I opted for an off white leather sofa and loveseat. They are a good option here at the lake where the lifestyle is rather casual.

  29. Maggie Nelson says:

I like everything in this post and I learned something new today too. I didn’t know that white pillow is called a Mongolian pillow. I have one that I bought it last year at Marshall’s and I’m really pleased with it.

  30. Your home is a lovely reflection of you, during every season, Yvonne. Thank you for inviting us in and making us feel so welcome. It is a joy to view your blog each day. You truly are a treasure to those of us who have been blessed by your hospitality , encouragement, and sharing of God’s word. May this Christmas be one of your merriest ever. It certainly is for our family. Our hearts are full, as our son and daughter-in-law adopted their foster baby, yesterday. He is 20 months and has been with our family since just a few weeks old. That makes 4 boys for them. God is good.

  31. I love the clock over the mantel. I would love to know where it came from. I’ve seen it for years on the website so I know it’s probably not available anymore ,I thought about getting a black one and painting the round frame Love all your ideas!

  32. Connie Gould says:
