Spring is the perfect time to hang a pretty spring door basket on your front door! At the beginning of every new season, the first thing I do is make a wreath or something new for the front door. This spring let’s make it a basket and fill it with flowers! Just so pretty! I’ll show you how!

The Spring Door Basket took me all of 10 minutes to make! Seriously, it was so so easy! And it looks so so pretty!

I just love the idea of a basket of spring blooms gracing my front door. I think something pretty like a wreath or basket on a front door gives a big WELCOME SPRING to all who see!
And it’s so important that whatever you put on your door can be seen from the street! Nothing wimpy! Always make is showy and B-I-G!
Ready to make this oh, so easy spring door basket?

I found everything for this project in my basement!
I’ve used the blooming branches for years! Do any of you remember this…

These pretty apple blossom branches have been used every spring for almost 10 years!

CREATIVE WAYS TO USE FAUX FLOWERS
But, I digress. Here is what you will need to make this diy…
- one bucket-type basket with a handle to hang from the door
- faux blooming branches or flowers or both
- pretty ribbon (you can see the ribbon I used HERE)
MAKING THE FLOWER BASKET IN THREE EASY STEPS

I think this basket has a pretty French look so I continued the theme!
Here are a few baskets you might like. Click on the image to see the basket…
TIE A BOW…
The first thing I did was to tie a black and white French inspired ribbon around the basket and tied a bow in the front.

I tied the ribbon quite snuggly on the basket so it did not need to be fastened with anything. But if it did, I would have used a few straight pins to attach it.
I cut the ends of the ribbon into French tails.
ADD BLOOMING BRANCHES

I hung the basket on the back of my front door to add the blooms! It made styling much easier!
I had two very large branches of faux apple blossoms with big branch-y stems. So I rolled the bottom of the branches around my hand until the branches were the perfect height for the spring door basket.
Then I tucked the rolled end of the branches into the basket.

Two branches were the perfect amount for this arrangement. I spread them out from one side of the basket to the other. Easy, right?
ADD EXTRA FLOWERS

If you like the look of the branches you don’t really need to add extra flowers. But I found the pretty pastel ranunculus and couldn’t resist adding them to the front door basket.
I used three sprays of ranunculus in the front of the basket. Again, just so easy!

Now, grab a few flowers, a basket, and some pretty ribbon and make a beautiful spring door basket!
And don’t forget to send me a picture of your creation!

I absolutely LOVE the ribbon you chose for this basket hanger. It’s so simple yet sophisticated.
Thanks, Paula. I think it has a bit of a French vibe.
Hi Yvonne, I love this idea! I’m so tired of the same forsythia wreath. I don’t have a basket but I do have an old fishing creek just gathering dust 🤔 I’m on it ! Btw, I also love your menus, they always give me ideas. Thank you!
Judie
Judi, I wish I had an old fishing basket for my front door! So pretty! Glad you like the recipes.
Such a beautiful basket for your front door, Yvonne! Thanks, once again, for such a great idea! I am going to get my spring stuff and make some. Blessings!
Love this idea! Thanks for sharing.
I would love to decorate my front door, however when I decorate it, I have a problem with either birds or wasps building nests in the arrangement. Does anyone have a humane solution for my dilemma?
What a beautiful and unique basket arrangement. I absolutely love it!
