HOW TO PRAY FOR THE LITTLE ONES IN OUR LIVES

We have a new baby! We have been waiting for him for a while. It’s so exciting when God brings a new life to our family! We are all so in love with this little boy! He is a manifested blessing of God!

Our little boy came to us in a different way than our other three grandchildren. God, in His great wisdom, grace, and mercy, brought Bailey Law to us through a wonderful and strong birth mother who chose life!

Bailey was given his first name by His birth mother. Bailey means strong enforcer or fortification. And his middle name Law is a family name meaning enforcer or justice. I pray he will live up to his strong name!

Last night from the hospital my son Christopher Facetimed with us as he rocked Bailey so I could introduce myself. Thinking about it now brings tears to my eyes!

I did what I’ve done for all my grandchildren the first time I met them… I sang Jesus Loves Me.

Little Bailey looked right at the phone and listened. It was really so beautiful!

I continue to sing this special song to all my “babies”. They know this song and will sing it with me. It fills my heart.

When I became a Christian at the age of 33 I had two tiny children. So I started to pour the love of Jesus in their lives as He was pouring into me.

I sang Jesus Loves Me to them too!

And I prayed for them every day… all day! And I still do. I have a continual running dialog with my Lord about them.

Having grandchildren gives me so much to pray about! It is a great joy in my life to be able to bring them before the Throne of Grace and talk to the Sovereign God about them.

One of my favorite ways to pray for my grandchildren is the way I prayed for my children when they were little.

There is almost nothing written about Jesus’ growing up years in the Bible. But I found this passage in Luke…

AND JESUS KEPT INCREASING IN WISDOM AND STATURE AND IN FAVOR WITH GOD AND MEN. LUKE 2:52

Long ago I figured if it was written about Jesus I wanted my children to grow up like Him too.

And now I want my grandchildren to grow up like Jesus.

So I pray this scripture over them every day.

I pray that they would grow in wisdom and stature and favor with God and men.

I don’t need to have fancy words or great long prayers or even know what exactly to pray for. I pray scripture over my children and grandchildren and God knows!

I pray back to God what HE says!

I’m letting Him know that I know what He says is true.

And I’m letting God know I know He can do what He says He can do! It’s that simple.

So, my darling little Bailey Bear I am praying for you just like I pray for your precious cousins…

May you grow in wisdom and stature and favor before God and men. And may you come to know Jesus as your Lord and Savior at a very young age and be a great disciple of Him! Amen!

  1. As you say”And may you come to know Jesus as your Lord and Savior at a very young age and be a great disciple of Him! Amen!”.
Your thoughts here show what is really important to be a complete human being, a good disciple of God. And it deals with thinking of Him as our Lord and Saviour, the One who is going to give us eternal life, being close to Him all the time!

Hope you and yours are happy and content with this new member in your family. Take care and never forget to be as joyful as you can. Hugs for you and yours and a special kiss for the little baby too,

      1. I think life is so tough from time to time that the only way to make a difference in our existence is to make our joy and faith be in charge, even all those times in which we are not happy at all!

Thanks for your blog, you are helping lots of people, even not realizing you are!!
        Huge hug from Spain again,

In a world ruled by satan, we better arm our little ones with Holy Bible.
I couldn’t wait for my turn to pray for my grand babies soon. Your testimony is very encouraging, thank you for sharing. Congratulations to you all.
