MY BEST CHRISTMAS IDEAS

As we celebrate Thanksgiving I want you to know that you are someone I will be thankful for today! Even though we have not met you are my friend! And I am so thankful that you are here!

This Thanksgiving looks so different for Bobby and me. Instead of being in San Diego with my children and four grandbabies, we are at Tanglewood having a Thanksgiving together. Just the two of us.

And I know many of you are probably having a Thanksgiving day that was not what you expected either.

But, all is good! The Giver of all gifts is with us and our focus is on Him.

Bobby and I are looking forward to a wonderful day together. And I have a ten-pound turkey to roast. I have never made a ten-pound turkey in my life!

It looks like a big chicken. LOL!

We have so much to be thankful for!

  5. Happy Thanksgiving! May the presence of God fill all our hearts today. My four children and 10 grandchildren will not be here to celebrate as they usually are. Just My husband and sister whom I love dearly. My daughter-in-law will be delivering babies in San Diego (Gods precious gift) and my son will be a peacemaker today with the sheriffs department. My other children are either afraid to come for spreading germs to us (2 nurses) and 1 family is quarantined. (Been in contact at school) But God is so amazingly good! Thank you for all you show us on your blog. I so enjoy it. God Bless you and your readers and Happy Thanksgiving to all.

    1. Kathy, thank your family for all their good work. Yes, even in these times we can be so thankful!

  9. Happy Thanksgiving – Thankful for you and all the wonderful posts you share. Thankful for the technology that enables our blogs, connects us with family, and today made it possible to Zoom with church members for a Thanksgiving Service. Enjoy your cozy Thanksgiving for two. Same here…You have me beat with a 10 pound turkey. I have a 3 pound turkey breast…it is so small it is pathetic. Remembering Thanksgivings past when I had 28 people for dinner and was worried the turkey was too big to fit in the roasting pan!!! Thankful for those memories!

  10. It was very thoughtful of you to post so many inspiring ideas today. Many of us are celebrating differently this year. I am making a seven pound turkey breast for just my husband and me. In fifty two years of marriage, this is the first time we have spent it with just each other. He is watching football and I am cooking (and reading many of your posts). After the game and dinner, he promised to watch a new Hallmark movie with me. Have a safe and peaceful holiday season.

  11. Hello Yvonne and Bobby.
    Happy Thanksgiving from the U.K.
Wishing you a safe Day – albeit quieter than normal.
Hope you manage to Skype/FaceTime with your family later.
God bless you all for sharing your Day with your remote ‘friends’.
We are never lonely or alone with your blogs.

    1. Hi Lois, We are having a big family Skype later today. Eating Pumpkin pie together.

  12. We had a wonderful Thanksgiving 2 weeks ago with our children, spouses, grandchildren and great grandson. Life is short pans getting shorter not to be with those we love.
Happy Thanksgiving to you and Bobbie.

  13. Happy Thanksgiving! Thank you for sharing all your decorating tips and recipes. I especially like your posts on Sunday sharing your faith. God bless you and your family.

  14. MARY-ANN (FROM CANADA!) says:

Yvonne, I am thanking God for you, too! You are such a special lady! We appreciate everything you do for us and always look forward to your posts.

Hope you and Bobby enjoyed your Thanksgiving Day today — and also that 10 lb. turkey! You are right — a l0 lb. turkey is just like a big chicken! I cooked one of these for our Thanksgiving dinner in October. With all the restrictions, we could not have family over. It was a little sad to say the least. However, we realize how blessed we really are with all that God has given us!

Hopefully, you will be able to get together, as family, for Christmas. We have had more extreme restrictions placed upon us as covid is really out of control here with our counts being in the 500’s. with lots of deaths each day. So our Christmas will be just my hubby and I. Anyway, we will focus on the Reason for the Season and enjoy our day together — and thank God for His many blessings.

    Bless you and Bobby!
