CHRISTMAS HOME TOUR 2020, PART 2

Welcome to our Christmas Tour! I’m so excited to continue to share more Christmas inspiration with you! Come on in and look around. This tour features most of our home dressed up and ready for you and Christmas!

A big thank you to my friend Marty at A Stroll Thru Life for hosting this Christmas Home Tour.

I’m not quite sure how many years Marty has hosted this event, but I know it’s been more than a few! I’m so thrilled to be a part of this beautiful Christmas tour.

Welcome, welcome, welcome. If you are coming from my friend Jenn’s home at Clean And Scentsible you were treated to the most Christmassy and pretty kitchen! Glad you make your way here!

At the bottom of this post is a schedule for all 30 of the homes being featured in this tour. Make sure to stop back here every day to visit new Christmas homes.

I’m so glad you are here. I’ve been busy for weeks decorating our home for Christmas!

Christmas is my favorite time of year and decorating is so much fun!

Before you see today’s tour you might want to visit my ONE ROOM CHRISTMAS TOUR HERE.

Do you decorate your bedroom for Christmas? I have lots and lots of ideas for a cozy and oh, so pretty Christmas sanctuary!

And you might also like to see PART 1 OF THIS YEAR’S CHRISTMAS TOUR HERE.

This tour features Hobbes our cat, the foyer, great room and stairs.

So let’s start our tour today heading towards the dining area.

Our dining area is open to the great room, sunroom, and kitchen. It has one wall with a large window and another wall that has a big opening to the sunroom. This room is light and airy.

I usually have four upholstered chairs at the concrete topped table. Two on each long side. However, we are having our grandchildren here and I thought they would like sitting on a bench covered with Mongolian fur.

This season I’ve been making what I call “use what you have” arrangements. They are so easy and I can put one together in under 15 minutes.

Don’t you love Christmas decorating that is not a too involved and doesn’t take a huge committment?

I have one on the dining area table.

You can see how to make a USE WHAT YOU HAVE CHRISTMAS ARRANGEMENTS HERE.

The dining area is quite centrally located in our home. So the great room Christmas tree is also enjoyed in this area of our home too!

Now let’s head into the sunroom.

This room comes by its name honestly! Even on the dreariest days, it is bright.

And photographing it is often a bear! Just so much light! So I spent my day running to the sunroom when the sun went behind a cloud to click a few images at a time!

It’s a small-ish room that lives large! If you have a smaller living space in your home you will want to see HOW TO MAKE A SMALL ROOM LIVE LARGE.

And if you want to decorate your home with neutrals see 7 TIPS FOR DECORATING WITH NEUTRALS.

Last year I put up a tabletop tree in this room and just loved it!

So this year I decorated it again!

You can see a step-by-step guide HOW TO DECORATE A TABLETOP TREE LIKE A DESIGNER HERE.

I thought the sunroom would be a good place to put our white Nativity. My dear friend, Tina give it to me for Christmas over a decade ago. It’s my favorite because it is so elegantly simple! And it has lots of sentimental value!

The O, Come Let Us Adore Him banner reflects the sign over the mantel in the great room.

On the coffee table is another USE WHAT YOU HAVE CHRISTMAS ARRANGEMENT! Some of the elements of the tree are carried over to the arrangement.

Repeating decor elements is an easy way to create beauty in your home and it’s so so simple. Make sure you read RYTHM AN IMPORTANT ELEMENT OF INTERIOR DECORATING HERE.

Did you notice the pillows on our sectional? I love to arrange pillows. I think nothing changes the look of a room easier and more economically than pillows.

Because our sectional gets to much wear and is our favorite spot to lounge I keep our pillows simple, relaxed and cozy!

Here are two posts that will really help you become a pro at arranging pillows…

I love to decorate with orchids when the weather here gets too cold to pick flowers or other organics outside.

I know poinsettias are the quintessential Christmas flower. However, in this Christmas home orchids reign supreme!

This season white orchids are scattered about in my sunroom and kitchen.

Speaking of the kitchen, that’s our next stop!

The kitchen is decorated “lightly”. Because our kitchen is a workhorse I don’t want to be moving around Christmas decor. So I just added touches of Christmas where I don’t need to work.

Our kitchen had a major makeover! Here is how it look earlier this summer…

When we decided to buy the Tanglewood House a kitchen makeover was something we planned for!

It’s so much lighter and brighter now!

A wreath was hung on the hood and…

Two mismatched wreaths were hung over the glass doors that house some of our bar glasses.

A dwarf lemon Cyprus carries on the citron green color featured in our Christmas decor this year.

And on the counter is a big pot of beautiful orchids!

These orchids most likely will last a few months. Hopefully long enough to take me until early spring.

I hope you have enjoyed this year’s Christmas tour and have been inspired.

Have a very Merry Christmas!

The next stop on our tour is at Tammy’s from Pink Peppermint Design. Her cozy mid-century modern home has the most fabulous tree! I’m sure you will be inspired there!

Your blog, your home, is such an inspiration to me.
