I feel like a broken record! When I talk about decorating I almost always talk about color palette!

Knowing the fall colors you are going to use each year and making sure they work with your whole home color palette is a smart idea! And it will really pay off.

When you know your fall color palette you can stick with those colors and not get off track!

You are less likely to make mistakes which can cost $$$ and keeping a tight color palette will help your fall home look cohesive and beautifully decorated!

One thing I LOVE about choosing a fall color palette is I can add a splash of pretty fall-inspired color to my neutral home! Soft greens or deep burnt oranges or warm caramels! Oh, these colors make me weak in the knees!

Choose a color palette and stick with it!

My early fall colors this year are neutrals and greens with an emphasis on citron green.

So the pillows I choose for this autumn are going to reflect those beautiful early fall colors.

As early fall moves into October I’ll switch out the green for deep rust. Oh, I love this color with lots of light neutrals and white!

ALL PILLOW COLLECTIONS SHOULD START WITH A NEUTRAL FOUNDATION

Beautiful pillows for fall should not start with the colorful fall-inspired pillows. No? No!

A perfect collection should start with a great foundation! And that foundation should be fabulous neutral pillows!

Choose neutrals that add lots of bulk and texture and a feeling of coziness without adding lots of colors that might compete with one another.

Think about textures like wools, nubby looking fabrics, tweeds, velvets, burlaps and any warm feeling texture.

These decorative wonders, if chosen carefully, can work for fall as well and the Christmas and winter seasons.
