STAYING CALM AND CARRYING ON

Hi Friends! Today let’s talk about the future! Not the future as in a long, long time away but more like the near future! Our future. We are all beginning to sense that there will be a new normal for a while! I want to let you know I’m thinking of you! If you have a few minutes, let’s talk…

First off, I hope all of you are safe and doing well and listening to the best advice of the CDC, and local, state and federal officials! This is a very rare time in history and we need to take the Corona threat seriously!

We need to look out for ourselves, our families and friends and neighbors and for those who are struggling! We are all in this together and the only way forward is to keep calm and get through it together! Of course, being aware of social distancing giving lots of virtual hugs!!!!

I know there are so many of us who are worried about jobs and illness and toilet paper and hand sanitizer and what to do with the kids and being isolated. I’m feeling a bit of that too! The unknown can be quite unsettling! I understand!

Please pray for our country, our leaders and our first responders. And selfishly I ask you to pray for my husband Bobby as he is a doctor and on the front lines of this virus. When you think of Bobby, think of all the other health care workers too and lift them up in prayer. Thank you so much!

Please know I am praying for you! I’m praying for your safety and sanity! I pray that StoneGable and your other favorite blogs will give you a lift and respite from the outside world!

Prayer is so powerful and important!!!!

I have a feeling that we, collectively, will be homebodies for a bit! So, I would like to do my part and blog more about things YOU want to hear about! Things that will give you a little break from the 24/7 news cycle.

I was thinking I might like to blog about things you can do in your home like simple DIY’s, organizing, cleaning, easy peasy decorating and simple healthy recipes.

I know I blog about those things already and this is where I am counting on you! Is there something you want me to post about?

An easy-peasy recipe or a super simple organizing tip? I have tons of decorating ideas but I want to hear from you. What do you want to learn about or what would put a smile on your face?

I’m listening! And want to help you and be a happy spot in your day!

As always you are in my thoughts and prayers! I consider you all my friends, even if we have not met. I feel like I know you and you certainly know me!

I’ll be right here through all the uncertainty of life. And you can visit me anytime night or day!

I’ll be here… staying calm and carrying on!

Hello Yvonne, thank you for this very thoughtful post today. For me it is a respite of reading and enjoying the blogs from you and others who share their beautiful homes. Your blog is a perfect layout and currently I am interested in all things that will help me get organized when you don’t have big storage space. Any tips of how to store seasonal decor would be great. Thx and stay well and I will continue to pray for your family too.

  2. I am an early bird, so I am happy to enter the first comment to your “spot on” post! I turned this bigger than life problem over to God, so I am amazingly calm. I realize I have to do my part, use good common sense, be patient, kind and pray. I wish the blogging world could make suggestions on how those who are able could make a difference in someone else’s daily life right now. Bloggers have a huge influence on a large audience. My other suggestions: More blog hops, a “Pillow Love” edition and a post about YOU and all the things you are involved with. Thanks for you sweet post and for having coffee with me! Yes! Prayers for Bobby…

      Yvonne,
You and the other talented bloggers out there are one of the bright spots in my day. As you said I feel like we are all friends in the same stressful situation. Thankyou for continuing to sending positive prayers our way. God is good and we will come out on the other side of this stronger and more faithful to our Lord.
I have been using your advice on shopping my home to change over my decor to spring. Although due to social isolation only my husband, pets and myself will view the changes it makes me happy to keep my routine normal as possible. So if an Easter vignette on my counter makes me smile and makes our home a place of refuge it’s good. Also working outside cleaning up the garden and planning some new containers. Even outside I am doing some home shopping and dividing perennials I have, starting seeds and refurbishing old pots with paint. Making a goal for myself to see what I can do without spending any money.Any thoughts or ideas for this would be great.
God bless you and your family. Thankyou again for what you do.

I think we are all learning lessons from this virus and some of them are good. We need each other to look out for each other and to be kind. Just to check on a neighbor and our relatives. A phone call. It’s that simple. And follow-up if necessary.

  4. In these uncertain times, let’s put things in perspective. God is real, He loves us and He is Sovereign. We don’t know what is going to happen, but He does. And we can trust Him.

Second, while almost all of us have never experienced anything like this before, our ancestors did. My parents lived through World War II and the Great Depression. My grandparents lived through World War I and World War II AND the Great Depression. They made it through, and we will, too.

How did past generations make it through challenging circumstances? They recognized the existence of a higher power. They recognized that there are bigger things out there than themselves. While they were struggling, they looked around them to see who was in worse shape than they were, and they looked for ways to help those who were worse off.

Instead of hoarding toilet paper for ourselves, we need to reach out to others who have greater needs than we do. Share that toilet paper with a neighbor who is in need. Cook up an extra batch of that extra food that you purchased, and bring it to someone who may not be able to get to the grocery store. This is how the past generations handled difficult times. It is tested, and it works.

As for me, I consider this time at home to be a blessing. This past nine months I have lost a lot of sleep over some building plans we had that fell through. I have been running around like a crazy person, and I haven’t had the time to keep up with things at home. I began this stay-at-home period with a (non-Covid-19) virus that has forced me to rest – and recover from all that sleep that I lost. Now that I am starting to recover, I am starting to tackle those things that I had to let slip. It feels so good to start making progress on getting caught up.

If you think about it, you may see that this time is a blessing for you as well. What projects have you been wanting to tackle that you couldn’t because you didn’t have the time? Now you have the time.

Instead of running to the store, you can order things online and have them delivered to your home. As long as you have the financial resources, you can redecorate a room, or reorganize your closet.

If your finances are limited, you can research the web for recipes that will allow you to stretch your budget. Research how to better manage your finances. Prepare a budget. Consider starting an online business, then research the many resources online that help you learn how to do this.

If we have the right perspective, we can turn this time of uncertainty into a blessing that we can appreciate, perhaps for years to come.

    It’s all about perspective.

  5. Thank you Yvonne for your prayers and kindness. Prayers for you and Bobby. My husband and I are retired teachers( 8 yrs. this May.) We keep tabs on our three adult children and their families daily. The news is constantly reminding us that we are all in this together and we all need to follow safety rules that are constantly given.
I would love you to blog about your gardening ideas for your new address. Are you doing herbs as usual? Any new flower beds? I think turning to spring will put more joy into our present lives. God bless.

    1. Hi Sandy, I can’t wait to share all the ways I will be gardening this spring. I have a patio so I’ll be doing a lot of container gardening.

  6. What a wonderful breath of fresh air and a “warm hug” wrapped in one letter. Bobby is already in my prayers as someone directly dealing with this crisis and you, as family. I always look forward to your ideas, lessons, photos, and, of course, recipes; so whatever strikes your fancy, will be fine with me. It will be a welcome reprieve of unsettling news events. It also brings hope planning for the future. Since we are not able to just “go out and pick things up” like we used to, maybe something about using what we have, repurposing, or just getting organized for when life settles down. Be well, and thank you, again.

  7. Prayers are certainly lifted for your husband and all medical personnel I so enjoy your inspiring positive words and would love to hear morning devotions from you to keep us all positive and leaning on Jesus Thank you for your unashamed love for God and for letting us inside your beautiful home

    1. “FOR I AM NOT ASHAMED OF THE GOSPEL FOR IT IS THE POWER OF GOD UNTO SALVATION FOR ANYONE WHO BELIEVES, TO THE JEW FIRST AND THEN TO THE GREEK, FOR IN IT THE RIGHTEOUS OF GOD IS REVEALED FROM FAITH TO FAITH AS IT IS WRITTEN THE RIGHTEOUS WILL LIVE BY FAITH. Romans 1:16-17

I am not only not ashamed I am in awe that God chose to save me!!!!! I am eternally grateful!

Hello. Yvonne, Thank you for your blog. It has become a mainstay in my morning for some years now. Standing outside this morning, I was thinking that the world continues to revolve, and nature is doing its job … trees and plants are coming back to life and birds chirping and furry creatures skittering about without a care in the world. Sometimes I envy their ability to continue on without a care and it’s calming to sit and watch for a few minutes. Have even thought about getting out a jigsaw puzzle to pass the time. I did hear that there are internet slowdowns occurring because so many people are streaming movies/music and students taking online courses and many working from home. Have decided to limit my surfing for that reason since all my time on the computer is mostly recreational and unnecessary for the most part. Thank goodness we have so much technology today. It makes me smile when I think back to my childhood when we had only a couple of TV channels with very limited broadcast hours and party phone lines with those clunky dial phones. We have come a very long way in a very short period of time. Just a reminder that we are a strong and vibrant nation that is constantly evolving and innovating to make life better for everyone.

I have stopped watching the news constantly only checking in in the morning, at noon and in the evening for updates. I am amazed at the innovative ideas and how people are volunteering in their communities to make sure that the elderly and vulnerable have food and medical attention. It just shows that when the chips are down our people come together as one. I know we’ll get through this and hope we can remember that we are all in this together and that we live is the greatest county on earth when the virus is just another moment in history.

Wishing you and all your readers a blessed day. Kay in NC

Yvonne, Have so appreciated all of your ideas and suggestions! Yes, please continue with easy recipes, organizing and decorating ideas! We need you!! Thanks Anne Morgan

  10. Annmarie W says:

Good Morning Yvonne, thank you for your post. I love that you are always so positive, friendly, and a Godly woman. I literally look forward to opening up your newsletter everyday. I feel your friendship through your words. Im am happy to read about crafts, and decorating ideas, and Biblical words, especially to get a break from the media on the Virus. We need to stay hopeful and not fearful, especially as women of God where many will be looking to see how we react. I will be praying for Bobby, you, and your whole lovely family.

    Blessings, Annmarie W

PS. I painted my family room in Benjamin Moore, Sonnet and I love it (I believe that was a color from Stone Gable) ??

  11. Thanks for the service of your husband and you too. It’s very important that these special medical warriors are kept safe along with their families who help care for them.

  12. Yes, absolutely I will include your husband in my prayers of protection. I’m speaking Psalms 91 over this difficult situation and calling the names of my family and friends before our Lord each day. My husband too in in a similar situation but I know God is faithful.

I’m cleaning closets, junk drawers, and going through my stash of decorating bins. We will come through this as better people, more compassionate and for me…a little more organized.

  13. Blessings and prayers to you, Bobby and your family. Love and look forward to your daily message.
Especially love and look forward to your sharing your faith on Sundays. Just a thought … a mid-week Bible verse?
“Thank you” for all that you share.

    1. Yes, I think I will do that. Look for it on Facebook and Instagram!

  14. Good Morning Yvonne: I look forward to your blog each time you print it. I enjoy all of your special ideas and have used many of them. These are trying times but I know God will take care of all of us and yes we should pray for everyone. Please you take care of yourself and I look forward to seeing your next blog. Have a great day.

  15. Beth Weaver says:

Thank you for such a sweet message and yes, we are all in this together. You & your husband are in my prayers.

I am trying to use this time to catch up on projects, but I have one I can’t seem to get my head wrapped around…my office/sewing/craft room. It is a small room (11×13) and it is packed and unorganized! I have a hard time working in such a cluttered space. Now that you know my dirty secret, can you offer some ideas. Layout, storage, etc.

Thank you and I pray Gods blessings on us all.
    Xoxoxo

    1. LOL!!! You are like most of us, Beth! You should see my office! Oh, my! I think I’ll give it a good organizing and post about it! And thank you for praying for us! I am praying for you!

    1. Shirley, I am praying for you too my friend. You are so often in my thoughts and prayers.

  16. I always look forward to reading your posts and following along on your projects. I am praying for all of the health care workers at this time, on a normal day they spend 12 hours in the E.D. and even more hours now. I went to our local Walmart and the lady waiting on me has been through two rounds of chemotherapy and there she was basically on the front lines working and helping people. Yes, we can turn off the news but all of these wonderful people do not have that option because they are living it every day. Prayers to all of them and sending a special prayer for your family as well.

  17. I look forward to your posts every day. Recipes are always nice. Simple diy’s and decorating with what we have would be great since we shouldn’t be out shopping. Thank you for all you share with us.

    1. Hi Mary! You are so welcome! Yes, I am planning a couple very easy yummy and figure-friendly recipes. And a few pantry ones too!

  18. Thanks so much for your caring words! This is indeed a challenging time. I read that groups of people in our country are praying each evening at seven local time for our safety, etc. I plan to start doing that. It’s comforting to know that others I don’t even know are praying with me.

    1. Sue, I think it is so important for us to cry out to God! What a great idea. Can you tell me more?

  19. I love your blog and I would love to hear and see ideas about how to decorate during these times for example how to shop your own home, make things for our home that we can buy at the stores that ARE open or buy online. Painting projects with paint we have in the storage already. Or crafts made from nature? Keep the ideas coming 🙂

    1. Yes, thank you Jill. I’ll be looking for easy to do home decor diy’s that anyone can do. And I will be doing an organizing post about small linen closets soon!

  20. Prayers being lifted up for Bobby and many others on the front lines. Your blog has always been so inspiring for me and when I ask for special prayer request you are always so obliging. Thank you.
My prayer is that this situation will be a wake up call for people around the world and our country. God is being taken out of everything and hopefully a great revival will take place in our land. Let us all join together and pray for one another and for our country, also people all around the globe.
I love your sugar cookie recipe and was unable to print off the recipe. Would you be a dear and repost the recipe again sometime in the future.. Baking is great stress relief for so many of us, there is just something comforting during these uncertain times about being in our kitchens.
Thank you again for all you share, your family is in our prayers.
    Mary L

    1. Hi Mary, I’m having a bit of tech trouble with my recipe index. So I’ll try to get that fixed and make you a recipe card. Thanks for asking! And yes, we need revival! A perfect thing to pray for!

  21. JoAnn McM says:

Yvonne my favorite posts that you do are your uplifting Sunday scriptures. I could use more of those in the coming days. Prayers for you, Bobby and all of the healthcare professionals on the front lines of this.

  22. Thank you Yvonne, we are all in this together not in fear but in prayer,
we can keep calm and carry on,knowing God is in control gives us peace in any storm.
United we we stand divided we fall..prayer changes things…

  23. Pam Smith says:

I look forward to talking with you every day. I will be praying for Bobby and all our other health care providers. Look forward to the next post.

  24. My prayers for all of us in this unprecedented time. I do not regularly journal, but I am trying to now. I have started writing down all the “weird ways” we are now adapting. Some of them are truly funny…not being able to find a thermometer anywhere, I put my meat thermometer under my arm to get a baseline temperature for reference. It registered 97F. Should any of us run a fever, I know I can add 1.6 degrees to at least get an approximate temperature. CRAZY! So, I think a blog asking people to comment about funny or odd things they are doing would be entertaining. The hardest part of this for my husband and I has been isolating ourselves from our sons and their families that live within a couple of miles of us. If we didn’t have FaceTime we’d really be depressed. I would love a blog about ways to connect with each other via the internet (safe apps for games to play together such as Scrabble online). I heard about and am looking into “Marco Polo”. Thanks for giving us something to look forward to daily with reading your blog. Keep safe and well!

  25. Linda Gomez says:

Thank you for your uplifting blog. I really look forward to seeing an email from you! Yes, these are hard times. I have been doing lots of spring cleaning to keep busy and have taken SEVERAL bags/boxes to the AMVET donation center. We are retired so the work isn’t a problem, but not going out really is. We have had a bit of rain (yea, finally) on the west coast so it makes it a little easier. I am planning picnics on our patio for lunch…..even if we bundle up , just to get out. Our treadmill is on the outdoor covered patio so that is an outing. We can also go to the coast to a park for a picnic all of which help! I have moved decor around the house several times… keeps me busy! Prayers to your hubby and all first responders (my soon to be son in law is a firefighter)

  26. Maggie Keller says:

Remember after 9/11 when everyone drove with their auto lights on to show support and solidarity with all Americans? It was comforting then to know we were together in the sad world. People near me are starting to put their outside Christmas lights back up for the same purpose, shedding some light to keep us United. Perhaps you can foster the idea or encourage another activity that would eat away at the great divide our politics and media have been so effective at igniting and feeding.

  27. Yvonne, thank you for the uplifting post. I have carried a card with the scripture 11 Chronicles 7:14 in my wallet for several years. It says: “If my people, who are called by my name, will humble themselves and pray and seek my face and turn from their wicked ways, then will I hear from heaven and will forgive their sin and will heal their land.” Another wonderful promise from our God.

    1. I would appreciate some ideas for neat ways to store recipes that I have printed off. I am using some file folders but there must be a better way!!!

  28. You seem to get so much accomplished…would love to know how you schedule your day.

  29. Lynda Lamon says:

Prayers for your husband and all health care professionals! I love your style and your blog!! Thank you for a lovely distraction from all the uncertainty in our world!

    1. Awww! So sweet Lynda! I really want StoneGable to be a lovely distraction and a helpful useful tool!

  30. Joanne Roberts says:

Yvonne, I so appreciate you. I am a follower of Jesus as well. I live in the Flathead Valley in Mt. Absolutely beautiful up here next to Glacier Natnl Park! Finding many things on Facebook Marketplace to repurpose. We are currently having beautiful weather so outside in flower and veggie garden cleaning up now. Thank you so much for all your lovely inspirational ideas. May the Lord Bless you and Keep yo and May His face shine upon you. Praying for your hubbie!
    Joanne

  31. Thank you for this kind and beautiful post. Thanks also to Bobby for the work he will do to combat this terrible virus! May God keep us all in his care. Prayers.

  32. What an uplifting post! Yes, will pray for your Bobby and all the medical help out there. My husband needs a procedure and when I asked the doctor should we be doing this at this time he replied that he chose a career to help people and it is his duty to be there for people. It brought tears to my eyes. Praying for everyone in this time. My friend from before I retired – she was my prayer buddy, the one at work you could go to and pray with – called and asked me to join a group who are praying Psalm 91 each day. I have been doing that and it is bringing me comfort and hope. Stay well, be healthy, and blessings to you !

  33. Linda Bond says:

Thanks Yvonne. I really appreciate you and reading your blog every day. I am fortunate to have a craft room that I can escape to. Last week I made the chinoiserie eggs which I’ve been looking forward to doing for over a year now! I’m looking forward to doing other decoupage crafts that you have blogged about. I’m thinking this is a perfect time to do a bit more organizing and cleaning out and I have your decluttering checklist at hand. All this to say more simple DYI crafts and organizing ideas would be great at this time. Encouraging all of us to pray together is so important. Thank you for doing that.

    1. Hi Linda! Thanks for the encouragement. Yes, we all need to pray! I’ve made a list of all the ideas everyone is giving me and will start creating post.

  34. After reading some of the comments I realized I must have missed something about your Bobby. What kind of work does he do? Also I think we’ll all have cleaner more organized homes when this is all over! I know I will LOL!

    1. Hi Deb, Bobby is a primary care doctor. So, he is really on the front lines! Thanks for letting me know what you would like to see posted here. keep safe!

  35. Yvonne, thank you so much for your beautiful site and for your continued encouraging words to all. Yes, prayer is our most powerful weapon against any enemy!
I will keep Bobby and all of the dedicated, tireless healthcare workers in my prayers. I just heard that in one state…they were in such need of more doctors and nurses…they put out a call to retired ones. In an hour, they had hundreds of these retired professionals offering their services. My mother was a nurse and I know if she was still here on earth, she would have been right there to help.

  36. We live on a ranch and that never stops so any ideas for mud rooms or when you walk in and out tracking the mud in on your boots and you can’t always take them off

  37. I will have you and your family in my prayers as well as our nation. My granddaughter is a nurse so I understand how you are feeling right now. I am staying in my home and taking all the precautions that I can to stay safe. It is in Gods hands now so we need to keep our faith strong. Take care and stay safe.

  38. ANNE C Now says:

Now that I have extra time to look at Pinterest and magazines,I find it I don’t know how to look at pictures of pretty rooms and friends like that into something I can use for my house. Would you please do a blog on what YOU look for when you look at a picture?. How do you dissect that photograph?

  39. Susan Alps says:

Thank you for prayer! We will include Bobby. Please thank him for us! My daughter, Amanda, is a nurse in Seattle. Prayer is always the best response to prayer. Next, check out what the Bible has to say about fear.
I would like help with placing furniture in my living room. I know there are too many pieces lined up on one wall.

  40. Carol Liebst says:

I enjoy the DIY posts, but also loved the older posts – seems like there one where you talked about changing your daughters room from her room to one for her and her husband. Your sentimental family related posts, how you use your home with your family, are my favorites. Love the bog, and best wishes for your Bobby during this unprecedented time.

  41. Saying a prayer for your husband. I thought of you today and your menu idea series. I know how to cook but I not everyone knows how. This is completely a new normal. The sooner we comply, the sooner we get out of the house.

  42. Gina Kennedy says:

Thank you, Yvonne for this post. It is funny how we feel connected to people we’ve never met, but we are! This is a big, beautiful country and we truly are all in this together. I love your blog and will keep your husband in my prayers. I am a retired nurse myself. We all need to stick together and keep praying ! I look forward to more posts 🙂 Stay safe

  43. Nancy Davis says:

Thank you for sending all that love and kindness to us. Right back at you and special prayers for Bobby and all who are on the front lines. Hang in there friends. We will get through this.

  44. Karen from Como says:

I only recently found your blog and it serves as a lovely distraction every day. I too would like to see some small craft or decor projects. However, I would greatly appreciate ideas for a temporary home office. We have been told to work from home for at least 3 weeks. My dining room was peaceful and beautiful. Today my dining table is covered with 2 monitors, a keyboard, a small black docking station, mouse, and a stack of office supplies. It’s no longer peaceful or beautiful. I would love to hear your thoughts and suggestions.

  45. Keep sending your delicious, incredible recipes!!! Love them!

    1. Hi Tricia! Yes, I’m planning an easy menu for this upcoming week!

  46. My husband and I are self isolating as they say. We have been reading through the Old Testament in preparation of a trip to Israel in May. You can believe I am praying we can still go and that the worst will be over. I work this weekend in a nursing home keeping our wonderful residents safe. We have 15 positive in our county. I will include Bobby in my prayers. I have no TV on in the house except for movies after supper. Many thanks for your upbeat blog.

  47. I know you have posted before about aromatherapy and how you love it, but could you give more information on how you use it and your honest opinion about it. I dislike using candles just because of safety issues but miss the fragrances they give. Sprays really are only a quick fix but not lasting. I ant my home to feel inviting at all times and smell is a big factor. Also how do you go from one room to another with their use not being overpowering. Bedrooms need a different smell than a much used family room/kitchen area. Any tots would be helpful. A calming feeling in the home would definitely be useful in the days we live in now.

    1. That’s a great idea Betty! I will write a post about my love of oils!

  48. Laurie Moore says:

I haven’t visited your blog in awhile but being “sheltered in place” I knew you would have inspiring ideas. I also have family members in the medical field. My son and his girlfriend are RN’s. I pray for your husband and all our brave healthcare professionals. I am hoping to clean, organize and decorate through the uncertainty. If I can at least improve and control my own environment I have a better sense of well-being. I look forward to any and all of your posts! My 2O year old daughter is home from college and wants to redo her bedroom. So any tips there would be great too!

    1. Oh, you sound like you going to be busy! And what a great project for you and your daughter! My best advice is to make this a collaborative project. And don’t paint the walls gray! LOL!

  49. I will keep Bobby and you I’m my prayers. hugs

  50. Yvonne,
Whatever you post always uplifts me and gives me ideas. Thank you for your positive influence on all our lives. Prayers for you and for Bobby.

Moving forward, one day at a time, with hope,

    Judith

  51. Heidi Kremer says:

Your emails are always appreciated by me and I find the content helpful and upbeat. As a former healthcare administration I understand what your husband is dealing with on the front lines. What he and others are dealing with now is unprecedented and I can only imagine how challenging and stressful it is. I will keep you both in my prayers and pray for a speedy end to this crisis. In terms of content I would like to see ideas that I can apply using what we have at home now. My pantry is challenged at this point and although we have access to grocery stores lines are long and shelves are picked over. Also, anything in terms of organizing would be great! Thanks for all you do!

  52. Our daughter, a hospital oncology nurse, has been a stay at home mom after she blessed us with our first grandchild almost 2 years ago. She’s been asked to return to work now, and is worried about the lack of PPE. I pray for a hedge of protection around all those we love, especially those who who are taking care of the sickest among us. Yvonne, I have long wanted to create a cookbook full of our family’s favorites. My 3 kids frequently call and ask for favorite recipes and that would be a great Christmas gift! We now have time to start early! Any advice for getting organized and actually making my dream a reality?

    1. There are many places you can self-publish! Look on-line. My sister published a cookbook for our family and it is a treasure! I am praying for your daughter.

  53. Thank you so much for your beautiful decorating ideas ,recipes and plain common sense conversation that we are all having a hard time talking about.I look forwards to your messages that take me to a relaxed space for a short while.Happy we are not completely alone as we hear of others and their days. Please continue your blog and remember we are all thinking of you too as we listen about your projects .

  54. Yvonne, Thank you for your post, especially following the guidelines for social distancing, which prevents the multiplication of cases and enables us to return to a more normal life sooner. It will help prevent businesses from going under, too, because they will be able to open up sooner. Social distancing helps everyone in our country!
You are A woman of strong faith. May God fill you with his peace and strongly protect you and your husband! I have a daughter who is a nurse so I understand your concern. You have my permission to contact me via email with any specific prayer requests you’d like to share.
    Praying for you and yours,
    Teresa

    1. How sweet of your Teresa! Just keep praying. And I’m praying for all healthcare workers too!

  55. I always look forward to seeing what’s on your menu and everything looks so delicious. I would love for you to provide some pantry meal ideas.. Most websites I find are using meat and frozen goods and I don’t call that pantry meals:) Since supplies are low in grocery stores right now, I would love to just use our dry goods that we have on hand. Praying a hedge of protection over your husband during this time!

    1. They are low now, Michelle. Next week’s menu should help us make meals with pantry items.

Thank you for those encouraging words. I live on the gulf coast of Florida with the beautiful beaches and it seems so unreal that there are tourists and spring breakers ignoring the guidelines set for us to keep us safe and healthy. Our councilmen did vote to close our public beaches so that should help. Everyone has to do their part to keep this disease under control. Thank you for you prayers and know that I am praying for you too. Stay safe.

  57. Hello yvonne.Thank you for your words of wisdom.I truly am trying to stay calm. It’s other people driving me crazy.Im trying to understand most people are worried. But dear God in heaven dont make your situation worse by not hearing what is being posted on tv.Listen ,people are only hearing what they want to hear. And it’s not a good thing.I will be praying for you and Bobby and all your family. BIG Thank you to him from God Bless ? Little bouquet to cheer you.

    1. Sharon, there is no use in worrying about others. We can’t change their behavior by worrying!

  58. Yvonne, these are strange and worrying times indeed. However I have to say it’s lovely seeing families outside enjoying each other’s company and reconnecting with each other. Bobby, and all healthcare workers are in my prayers. My son is an epidemiologist with the CDC so we praying in earnest for all these dedicated professionals. Stay well, stay healthy, stay positive, stay kind. God bless.

I definitely would like to continue to read your blogs. I still would love to read decorating blogs. They help me think of things besides Covid-19! I also enjoy your Sunday messages. I am 79 years old and feel it may be awhile before I can leave my home. Prayers for your husband!!! Our medical people are “heroes”!

    1. Thank you LeRue! I will still be posting about decorating. I have a couple fun easy decorating posts ready for the upcoming week!

  60. Yvonne,
I enjoy your blog SO MUCH!!! I receive such wonderful inspiration with each & every post…I am truly grateful!! I am not one to leave a comment, but just thought I would like to say thank you & that one of my favorite pieces of Scripture is Psalm 91….so fitting for today. Maybe you could post it for all to see and be comforted by it.
Thank you again for all you do.

Please thank your husband for us. He is a True Hero. My granddaughter is about to have a baby boy, her first. The baby is breach and she will have to have a C-section. There may not be anyone allowed in the room with her. I know she is scared. Please pray for Kaitlyn and baby Myles….Thank you and God Bless!
