The stories of our lives are told in seasons! Summer, Fall, Winter and Spring. Over and over as the years tick quickly by. But there are other seasons that mark our lives too. There are seasons of childhood and motherhood and agedness. Seasons of joy and sadness, wanting and plenty. Seasons of highs and lows and fullness and emptiness. Vaness Hunt and Heather Patterson, two talented and much-admired sisters who author the widely popular lifestyle blog At The Picket Fence, have just released their very first book… LIFE IN SEASON. Beautifully illustrated, this book intertwines stories about life and seasons and faith. Life In Season is charming and relatable and touching and authentic and a delight!
The beautifully embossed cover gives just a hint of what will be found within its amazing, grace-filled pages!
ThE book is divided into four splendidly illustrated sections…
I could not wait to start reading and because it is Autumn, so that is where I started.
I read about football season and grapevines and not enough time to get everything done in a busy day. Woven into these captivating stories were lessons about our true value and how God is training our hearts and how He loves us and wants us… wants me… the mess that I am just where I am!
Their story titled, Hospitality touched my soul! Perfectly told and down to earth they share … “I think hospitality is an opportunity to show love. And show we care”. Spot on, girls!
All the stories are told as if I were sipping coffee on my porch swing listening to Vanessa and Heather right here at StoneGable! It was like they knew me and my “unfolded” crumpled life. Because they have one too!
Each story carries with it an I’m-just-like-you realness, life lessons, and encouraging grace.
Sprinkled in each season’s content are recipes (I’m making the Roasted Hazelnuts first) and home diy’s. They are as easy to make as this book is so sweetly easy to read!
Life In Season is to be savored! My instinct was to gobble it up because the images and stories were so delicious but I’m glad I didn’t! I spent time before bed each night reading a story and finding God’s grace in every lesson! Savoring is a good way to read this book. You will want to soak in every story and lesson and image!
I sincerely hope that you will get your hands on a copy of this beautiful (I know I keep saying that, but it best describes Life In Season) book. It will bless you in so many ways!
To Heather and Vanessa, I am so overflowingly proud of you and your inspiring book! It truly blessed me! Thank you!
