The Armor Of God
We are in a battle every day from the moment we get up until we fall asleep. We don’t battle against people but something very sinister and evil. God has much to say about how we can be victorious. What we wear often makes the difference. See what you should put on every day.
If you meet me, you might say that I am a girly girl. I love red lipstick and bangly jewelry. I am crazy about handbags and cute nail polish. I get up every morning, do my hair, and put on my makeup even if I am spending all day inside! I love my girlfriends and going to fun places with them. I like pink and flowers and being courted by my husband. Yes, I am a girly girl… but I am also a don’t-mess-with-me-tough-as-nails warrior!
As a woman, did you know that God has made YOU to be a warrior! To have the stamina, strength, and fortitude to fight great battles and be successful? Listen, my friend! YOU are a warrior!!!!
Our Daily Battle
We are barraged by a long-standing war, battle after battle, and day after day! Many think it’s just a thing called life. But if we look with the eyes of God’s wisdom, we will see that it is so much more than just life. There is a war waging for our very souls!
These are not flesh and blood battles as we know from the book of Ephesians…
OUR BATTLE IS NOT AGAINST FLESH AND BLOOD, BUT AGAINST RULERS, AGAINST THE AUTHORITIES, AGAINST THE POWERS OF THIS DARK WORLD, AND AGAINST THE SPIRITUAL FORCES OF EVIL IN THE HEAVENLY REALMS. Ephesians 6:12
Our daily moment-by-moment fight is against something more sinister and evil than mankind. We are fighting demonic, God-hating spirits that want to defeat you and me with every stinking, sinful, rotten fiber in them!
This is not a battle we can choose not to be in. If we are alive and proclaim Christ to be our Lord and Savior, we are in the thick of it. And those who do not know Him are consumed by it!
But here’s the good news, we can and should be totally VICTORIOUS!
Wearing The Right Gear
Can you imagine a soldier being called into battle and forgetting to put on her tactical gear or carry her weapon? Can you imagine her going out to do battle in her party dress attire? A true warrior would never be so foolish!
But many of us do that every single day. And sometimes I do it too!
Our great Father has given us perfect, protective spiritual gear! We can read about it in Ephesians…
THEREFORE, TAKE UP THE FULL ARMOR OF GOD, THAT YOU MAY BE ABLE TO RESIST THE EVIL DAY, AND HAVING DONE EVERYTHING, TO STAND FIRM.
STAND FIRM THEREFORE, HAVING…
- GIRDED YOUR LOINS WITH TRUTH
- AND HAVING PUT ON THE BREASTPLATE OF RIGHTEOUSNESS
- AND HAVING SHOD YOUR FEET WITH THE PREPARATION OF THE GOSPEL OF PEACE
- IN ADDITION TO TAKING UP THE SHIELD OF FAITH WITH WHICH YOU WILL BE ABLE TO EXTINGUISH ALL THE FLAMING MISSILES OF THE EVIL ONE,
- AND TAKE UP THE HELMET OF SALVATION
- AND THE SWORD OF THE SPIRIT WHICH IS THE WORD OF GOD. Ephesian 6:13-17.
This is our true battle gear! Our armor for daily wear and warfare. If we want to be victorious in this life, we must NEVER get up a day without putting it on!
A Girl With The Heart Of A Warrior
I love that I can be girly and a warrior all at the same time! And I know that I am equipped for victory in every battle!

Memorizing Your List
Our Bible Study studied Ephesians, and since then, I’ve been so very impressed by this entire book! It’s the high ground (as many Bible scholars say) of the New Testament.
Paul’s last message to the church gives us very God-inspired instructions. Commands about how to live and battle the forces of evil every single minute of every day!
So, let’s memorize Ephesians 6: 13-17 together over the next few weeks! We should repeat these verses every morning and several times throughout the day to prepare for the battle ahead.
