There is something so comfortable about farmhouse style. It reminds me of an easier, slower time… of home cooked meals and lots of family and hard work and making our own good fun! It’s nothing fussy and everything welcoming! There is a charm to farmhouse style, that’s for sure! Here’s a little farmhouse vintage inspiration.
In our breakfast area against the window is a old table that was once oak and now repainted to chippy and slightly worn farmhouse perfection!
The zinc drying rack is pure farmhouse!!! It does not have to be a true vintage piece to bring a little farmhouse into our homes. Mine is a a vintage reproduction! I filled my drying rack with wide mouth mason jars and small milk bottles. We use them to drink from, especially when we are on the patio!
I also hang them upside down to dry. Isn’t that what this fun piece is used for? I just washed these mason jars… can you tell?
I think anything galvanized is the epitome of farmhouse style… like this galvanized tiered tray! I call it into service for so many uses. Right now I’ve paired it up with the zinc bottle rack and filled it with more mini milk bottles, small white bottles and white cups.
My paternal grandparents were Missouri farmers! I plant snapdragons in my veggie garden every year to remember my grandmother. They were her favorite flowers. Simple garden flowers! I can just imagine them in a milk bottle sitting on a windowsill! So simple… so pretty… so farmhouse vintage!
Burlap is farmhouse vintage. I remember, as a little girl, helping my grandpa out in the barn with the chickens and the pigs. Big burlap sacks of feed and grain were stacked in the barn. I remember the smell of grain and burlap to this day!
This runner was woven from burlap ribbon. It may not be a vintage grain sack, but it does have that homespun burlap charm! Click HERE to see how to make this easy NO-SEW Farmhouse style project.
Farmhouse style is simple and practical and sweet! And here’s the best part… it is easy to incorporate into almost any style!
