The leaves in our area are still pretty green, but I was able to find a few early fallen leaves! I could walk for hours picking up leaves. Sorta like picking up shells at the beach!
Here’s what you will need to make these pretty falling leaves!
- 3 picture frames I got mine here…Kiera Grace City Float Picture Frame, 4 by 6-Inch, Black with Silver Accent
. This frame came with a pretty brushed silver mat.
- fall leaves pressed in a book for a day or two. If you live in an area that does not have pretty leaves use artificial.
- clear Tacky glue
Just to clarify…. you do not have to buy more glass. Just the one piece of glass that comes with the frame.
Glue the leaves to the FRONT OF THE GLASS. They look like they are behind glass because they are so flat. I achieved this by putting the leaves in a big book and putting something heavy on top of it for a day. You can also iron leaves flat but make sure you have something like a light cotton t-shirt on top of them so you don’t burn them!
How easy is that?
The frames are displayed on my open shelves this fall.
Now, it’s your turn! What leaves will you be hunting for to fill your frames?

Love the colorful leaves framed and your shortcuts. I have a question. How do the leaves retain their bright colors?I have had leaves turn brown when exposed to air. Thanks in advance for your assistance.
They last for at least one fall season.
Thank you for all the fabulous inspiration for Fall! I look forward to opening your emails every single day!! : )

Great pieces ~ and so easily & quickly done!
This reminded me that I have two double glass frames from years ago, displaying fern fronds ~ I might change those to Fall leaves.
Love the way you gave us an inexpensive idea for a bit of Fall inspiration. I might paint the leaves very lightly in grey, white, beige, pale brown, for that softer look for now!

Is still quite warm here in western CO, never know when Fall might decide to arrive but am making things so will be ready when it does arrive. Am looking forward to cooler temps, be able to have windows and doors open for Fall breezes, not soon enuf for me. Get tired of having to keep curtains closed, doors closed to keep house cool.
Great 10 minute project.
I would not have imagined putting dried leaves between glass, however, this is a great idea. Thank you for sharing.

Stunning! Thanks for an easy, low cost project.
Love the white pumpkin with the orange foliage, and I also like the contrast of the colors, green and natural wood in the pic with the Imperial School Crayon box.!
Very Cool
I agree with Theresa. A great project to do with the grandchildren. Perhaps a craft/favor for my granddaughter’s October birthday. Mom will be thrilled as well. Thank you.

I love this idea. I will need to wait a bit longer for colorful fall leaves, but this is on my to do list. I was also thinking feathers might be another option if one was looking for a neutral palette.
Feathers would be so pretty too!

I love your idea with the glass frames but since I live in the southwest I guess I’ll have to use faux leaves!
Beautiful Yvonne! Now I have something else to do with all those leaves I can’t help but pick up as I walk my dog. Thx!
Beautiful Yvonne….nature’s beauty in a wonderful simplistic form.
I love fall leaves! These are lovely simple decor pieces. I have some large fig leaves pressed in a glass frame that I picked when my Mom and I would walk together right before she moved to Heaven at 93. I love them.
What a beautiful remembrance of your mom!
FRAME ordered. Leaf hunt to begin… THANK YOU… quick-simple-fun-pretty !! ?LInda
I am seeing wooden beads on many blogs. Where can I find them?
So pretty!! Thank you for putting all this together!!
Thank you for displaying God’s beauty of Fall in such a creative way for the home!
Love it but like a reader above I am confused. Are the leaves pressed between layers and if so where did you get the second glass? If they are not pressed I assume I can “touch” the leaves when framed. I really want to do this!
What an easy, peasy idea, yet so stunning. You could also use a clear glass brick. Even I can do this and look creative.
This is a NEET idea !
Hi Yvonne,
The leaves are very pretty. It will be striking in your home with all the white! Just to clarify, are the leaves glued on the front of the glass, so you could actually touch them?
I look forward to your blogs. Always inspiring! Thanks!
Yes, the leaves are glued to the outside of the frame. The flatter you can get the leaves the better.
Love those frames. It is a great vertical idea for open shelves and I definitely will look for them. My grandson and I like to take walks in the fall and we will pick up leaves!
Love it! Simple yet elegant!
Love it! Simple and beautiful!

What a perfect way to display the beauty of fall leaves! I will definitely be trying this when our leaves start to turn. Thanks for the inspiration!
Beautiful! They make such a statement! Just to be clear…the leaves are on the outside of the frame….or am I missing something in the directions? Thanks
The leaves ARE on the outside of the frame. Easy peasy!
Thank you the quick, doable idea!
How pretty! Great idea. I was trying to decide if it was too early for pinecones. If you can do it …. I will too!

What a clever idea with fall leaves. It is simple but makes such a statement, something a bit different for fall decor. I knew there was a reason I couldn’t part with that box of frames in the basement! Once again, thanks for a great idea!??
Well, this diy will be free! I love that!
