CAN WE TALK?

I’m so glad you are here. Did you know, I consider you my friend! Really! We share our lives and opinions and triumphs and even the things that are hard. So, today I have lots to tell you! Tons and ton!

Dear friends, please read this whole post. There is so much information to make your StoneGable experience more enjoyable!!!!!

First of all…

I want you to know how THANKFUL I am for YOU! In this season of Thanksgiving, you are among the best blessing in my life! You see, I know that it is no mistake you come here to StoneGable. I KNOW, whether you know it or not, you are here by divine appointment! And I don’t take you for granted! Not one little bit!

And I am so thankful you “stumbled” upon StoneGable. And I thank God because of you!

I do what I do because of you! And I’m still pinching myself every day that I get to do this wonderful thing called blogging.

I want StoneGable to be a refuge for you and a place of inspiration. A place you can feel joy and know that I’m thinking of you in every word I write!

And now I have lots to talk about today!

Did you know…

I want StoneGable to be a community? A family really! We are not all the same and that is a good thing. We don’t all think alike, of course, we don’t! And we all have different life stories.

One of the best ways to feel part of the StoneGable community is to comment. You don’t need to tell me how pretty something is (however, hearing that is nice) and you don’t have to like everything I do. But you can ask questions and give your opinion (being nice) and I would love if you would comment on what others have asked. I often get asked for decorating advice and it would be fun to hear yours too!

Did you know…

It takes a village to put StoneGable together? Although I think up the content, research it, write it, edit it, take all the photographs, edit them, format the post, proofread the post (oh, heaven help us I am a terrible proofreader!). I also read all your comments, comment back, keep up with what’s going on on social media, and on and on!

Blogging is big business. And to be successful and put out quality content and keep up with tons and tons of behind-the-scene jobs I need help.

Saying that, I don’t blog for free. I used to blog as a hobby but it got WAY TO EXPENSIVE and I am so thankful for ways to make StoneGable earn its keep!

You may not know, I have a real assistant that comes a couple times a week to help me set up photoshoots and put everything away. And she does so much more for me! Let me be very transparent, dear friends! My left foot does not work as well as it did a couple years ago. Eleven operations have taken a toll on it! I can get around and do all the things I need to do but going up and down the basement steps is a scary thing! And the basement holds a store’s worth of decor!

I have a virtual assistant too that helps with a lot of social media! She is a gem and helps tremendously! She is a wiz at things I can’t even begin to understand!

And there are programs and back-office things that are not free! I have an accountant and a blog designer and a coach and other things to keep StoneGable up to speed, legal and on the cutting edge of this industry!

This is all to say, yes I know there are ads on my blog. And yes there are more than I would like. And I admit they can be distracting!

But they keep StoneGable up and running! So, please, please, please try to overlook them and concentrate on all the content and pictures I spend my time and energy on. I am determined to post the best content and pictures just for you! If I could do everything and not have ads I would! But that is not possible.

Thanks so much for understanding, I knew you would! ❤️

Did you know…

The “black box” you see on StoneGable when you are using your cell phone is really decorating videos I have made for you. They just take a second or two to load and then, of course, there is a brief commercial. These videos are helpful and I hope they inspire you.

Here it is on my cell phone…

I am working on lots of new videos for Christmas! And they will begin next week!

If you don’t want to watch them on your mobile device just click the close button. Easy!

As a matter of fact, all ads on StoneGable will disappear with a click!

But if you wait, and ignore the ad you will be rewarded with seven decor videos!!!! Yay!!!!

Did you know…

I have been blogging for 10 years! Yes, 10! I still love it today as much as I did the very first time a StoneGable post went live!

And because I have been blogging so long I have over 3,500 archived posts!

In the new year, I am going to start to weed through all of them and retire some old posts.

But I have over 2, 000 posts that are about decorating and diy’s and holidays and things that are relevant and helpful! With lots of great content!

Did you know…

You can see all of StoneGable’s archived posts by just scrolling down the page. Posts will continue to populate the homepage as you scroll! Easy, right?

You can search for something on StoneGable by typing in what you are looking for in the search box at the very top of the page to the right-hand side…

Or further down the page here…

Here’s a tip… just type the words Christmas or Thanksgiving or Summer or Decorating in the search bar and you will be amazed at how many posts populate the page! All ready for you to peruse!

You can also search for StoneGable content by category! Find categories at the top of the homepage. Just click on the category that is interesting to you!

Want a fall menu? No problem just click on RECIPE + MENU and lots of recipes will appear!

And if you want to find a link to purchase a product you see in my home you can click on the GET THE LOOK category. A drop-down box will appear. Then you can click on the rooms at StoneGable, and soon Tanglewood, to see what home decor is available.

You can also find the list of categories a bit further down on the StoneGable homepage for your convenience.

Please use search tools and categories to find posts that you are looking for or just browse! If you are not using them you are missing a lot of StoneGable inspiration!!!!

Did you know…

When I repost an archived post as a feature I’ve updated the content and maybe the images too?

There are hundreds upon hundreds upon hundreds of posts with very relevant, researched content! Like HOW TO STYLE A VIGNETTE LIKE A PRO, HOW TO DECORATE A NIGHTSTAND, HOW TO MAKE A FRINGED BURLAP TABLE RUNNER. And countless holiday and seasonal posts like WINTER WONDERLAND TABLESCAPE, VALENTINE HEAR HAND PIES, and 30 TIPS FOR SUMMER DECORATING.

I’ve written and posted content on decorating, diy’s, recipes, menu plans, God’s word, and so much more! I do repost content that has been on StoneGable before. But it is ALWAYS fresh! And always updated!!!!!

We add readers to our StoneGable family every week! New kindred spirits find StoneGable so I want to share lots of different content with them… and let you see it again up to date!

An example, just this week I reposted THE VERY BEST THANKSGIVING TIP YOU WILL EVER GET.

I think it was first posted 6 years ago and has been updated and refined and was reposted this past weekend!

I get so many emails telling me how much this simple tip has helped. And that thrills me! So I post it every Thanksgiving and as I said in the post, see this as a public service announcement! Just look at the 152 comments! So you will probably see this next Thanksgiving too!

Every week you should see AT LEAST 2 but probably many more new, never seen before posts.

Did you know…

Thank you for reading StoneGable and Pinning the content to Pinterest! I LOVE my Pinners! By pinning you help me get the word out about StoneGable.

And just because this post was not quite enough I have a companion post for you to read called SOMETIMES WE JUST HAVE MORE TO SAY!

THANKS, dear friend for reading this post! You are the best!

I have always loved your blog, but particularly love it now that you have moved. My husband and I have always wanted to downsize to a golf course lot and I am able to test that dream out with your move to the Tanglewood home!

  2. What a wonderful overview of everything on Stonegable. I’ve been with you, Yvonne, for so many years. It’s one of the few blogs I check every day.I appreciate how hard you work at posting so often. You do a beautiful job. Also, you just seem like a really beautiful Godly woman. Thank you!

    1. I have been following Stonegable for many yrs. &
always try to read you first.
      Love playing with my house
to create a warm haven for my family even though hubby and I are in our 70’s.
The Lord has blessed me with good health but we must begin downsizing, so your transition brought tears
but your story gave hope. You really cover many needs
with your postings and I know God is in your work.
      Thank you! Blessings!

  3. Aimee Caverly says:

I stuck it out! Thanks Yvonne. You inspire me.

  4. Thankful for you and your inspiration!

  5. I have read to the end. And I apologize for not commenting more often! I love your blog!!! You master bedroom has been such an inspiration for me as I redo my very 80s bedroom. Yvonne, have you ever considered hosting a local meet and greet? I’m a Lancaster gal and I’d love to meet you in person!!!

  6. Thank you for all the work you do to make this happen. I love your work and all the wonderful tips and information I can find here. This is one blog that I do read as much as possible. Yvonne, Up early as usual and delighted to find your chat. I did read it all the way through and understand your need to explain your blog and all that is involved in keeping it going. Ads are a necessary evil on line. I just have gotten used to ignoring them or fast clicking on the X. I also enjoy your throw back blogs and how you update them. Thanks for keeping a personal touch to Stone Gable and I am looking forward to posts on your new home Tanglewood. God bless You.

    1. What a nice comment! It’s friends like you Kathy that make it a joy to blog!

  14. Thank you, Yvonne. Love your blog!

  15. I’m fairly new to your blog, and I am enjoying it. I’m not a big commenter but will try to engage more, especially after reading this post. I now appreciate how much effort goes into what you do. Thank you for all the inspiration I find in your posts!

  16. Tamara Guilday says:

I love your vulnerability, Yvonne! Yep, we do not like the ads, sometimes annoyingly flashing, yet we understand and it is worth it to get all you give! May you continue to use the gift God gave you to glorify His name!

  17. I made it to the finish line!
Always a pleasure to read your posts. They are always Informative and motivating.
Blessings to you and your husband in your new home!

  18. Thank you for sharing such personal information about yourself, which for me was not necessary. It doesn’t matter whatI a person does if you’re drawn to their content. I love your blog, your newsletters, beautiful decor and elegant style, having help is just the right thing! Happy Thanksgiving and Merry Christmas!! ??

  19. I found your blog a little over a year ago, Yvonne. At the time it was a godsend to me. After a family vacation turned sour, our two grown sons would not speak to us. It was a holiday season I will never forget, eating dinner with my husband just the two of us. Thankful that we are together, it was still gut-wrenching nevertheless. For the entire season I relied on you and some of your companion bloggers for inspiration and solace. Amazingly enough I am writing this today as I sit and watch the sunrise here at my son’s house in Florida. We will be here until the end of the week when we head home and anticipate meeting up with my other son for thanksgiving. We are nervous about it, but for those readers suffering from family estrangement, I want them to know that there is always hope. Life is so short yet our most precious relationships can be so very hard. I’ve had a lot of people praying for me for this resolution but being patient is difficult as I waited on God’s timetable.
This is a great post, Yvonne. Taking the time to illustrate how to navigate your site is a great idea. And yes, I have stuck it out to the end! I too, consider YOU to be one of my best friends!

    1. Margo, I always get excited to see your comment. You are my friend! When readers take the time to comment on a regular basis I get to know them. And I am praying for your relationship with your family! I pray for a total restoration, better than before! My love and prayers to out to you!

  20. I appreciate your transparency in this post. I also appreciate your work!! Blessings

  21. Marilyn S. says:

Thanks Yvonne – I not only stuck it out but enjoyed it and I’m feeling like the move to Tanglewood has given you a new and refreshing outlook .

    Thanks

  22. Very helpful post, thank you. I so enjoy the lovely, understated decorating ideas. I too am drawn to neutral color schemes, I find them very restful.
I’m sorry to hear about your foot, I will pray for a touch from our loving Father.

  23. Nancy Patefield says:

Thank you for all your posts. I thoroughly enjoy them and your help. And I never realized how much work goes into your posts until I read this post! Have a wonderful Thanksgiving!

  24. There’s no way I could stop reading from start to finish your emails! They are always loaded with helpful tips and tricks! I have been pinning your designs for years on pinterest and in the last year realized you were actually a blog. It was like a light bulb moment. From there it lead me to your podcast which I throughly enjoyed. You all made me laugh many times. Then joining your team was easy and has been a blessing in my life. You brought me out of a slump and my decorating is alive again thanks to you! Thank you Yvonne for all that you do every day for all of us!

  25. As always, you are the gracious hostess and honest next door neighbor all wrapped in one delightful person! I thoroughly enjoyed this informative, yet fun “Chat”. I especially like the detailed info regarding the ads. Most of us probably forget these are a necessity nowadays. I am a relatively new follower considering you have been sharing the joy for ten years. I have enjoyed each one and look forward to continuing for as long as you post. You share your creativity, your honesty, your faith, your recipes and open your home to us with grace, beauty, warmth and humor. Thank you.

  26. Wanted to tell you how much I enjoy reading all the wonderful things you post. I have tried some of your recipes & look forward to them each week. Something I especially enjoy are your very inspiring words on your Sunday posts. My sister in law lives out of state and I always forward them to her and she too is uplifted by them. Keep up the great work as so many love seeing everything you have to share. Thanks, Yvonne! May you have a beautiful day!

  27. Thank you Yvonne,

    für die vielen schönen Inspirationen!
    Weiter so ?
Wishing you a wonderfull time and a happy life!
    Doris

  28. I made it to the end! I love your blog as much now as I did when I first stumbled upon it. Have a wonderful Thanksgiving with your family.

  29. Joyce Kennard says:

You totally amaze me.. I have imagined what amount of time you have to put in to make Stone Gables happen. Now, my question is, how do you make your personal life happen along with all this time it takes to do your blogs. Cooking, the Menu this week, and all the other daily life chores. I love all the post and ideas. Each time I go to do something, my husband comments, “what has Yvonne done now?”, teehee Best wishes and Happy Holidays

    1. Much of my life is my blog. We are empty nesters and my children and their babies don’t live near which breaks my heart but it gives me time to pour into StoneGable! I love what I do and much of what you see is my life!

  30. Rhonda Boyum says:

Read every word and so glad I did. There is so much “behind the scenes” I did not know about the blogging world. Thank you for all the hard work you put into Stonegable! Look forward to my email every morning!

  31. I’m a long time fan. I really enjoy what you do, and I truly appreciate your spirit and your kindness. I hope you have a wonderful holiday season in your new home.

  32. Read to the end ?
Got the materials to do the clothes pin snowflakes.
Thinking they may work for a second grade Christ party craft if I do some steps ahead.
    I enjoy your blog!

  33. Doreen Bednarski says:

    Good morning Yvonne,
This is my second attempt to answer this morning as there was an error in accepting my first try. Let’s hope this takes!
I wish to thank you for this post today. I have been with you for a long time and read through to the end. I learned a few new things in navigating your site. We all need refresher courses from time to time. I enjoy all posts but my favorites are Sunday Scriptures and weekly menus. You have the best recipes!!! I’ve cried over some of your family stories and laughed at others. As much as I have enjoyed Stonegable and all of its beauty and warmth, I’m looking forward to being introduced to Tanglewood and all of the memories you will make in your new home. I appreciate every second of your hard work and energy you put into your blog. May this blogging friendship continue for many years to come.
    A blessed Thanksgiving to you.
    Doreen

    1. Doreen, I always look for your comments! I know what a faithful friend you are!!!! xo

  34. I’m so happy to have found you in all the bloggers that are out there-you have so much to offer in all the great posts. I look forward to each & every one
I did stick it out till the end of your post this morning
    Thanks for all your inspiration

  35. We must be friends because you read my mind. After viewing the Christmas Home Tour on Sunday, I thought, how does she do it all?. I’m so relieved to learn that you have some help. I even envisioned you going up and down those basement step. Ugh! Here’s a trick my granddaughter and I do. She goes into my seasonal storage and FaceTimes me. I tell her what to bring up and then we create my vision together. At only 12 years old, she’s caught the decorating bug and is already developing an eye for the details. We have a ball together, making precious memories and passing my love for decor to a new generation. Blessing to you my friend and may you have many more years of creative energy.
    ‭‭Isaiah‬ ‭40:29-31‬ ‭NIV‬‬

    1. Oh thank you for the wonderful scripture encouragement! Yes, I pray for strength!!!! You are training a little junior decorator!

  36. Yvonne, you never cease to amaze me! Thanks for all the info, updates, inspiration, help and just plain letting us into your life! Sending a big old hug!!!!

  37. I made it to the end! I did your dishpan idea for a big Thanksgiving I hosted. I tweaked it to fit my needs, but it certainly helped with the big day. I love your new home and thank you for your bLog.

  38. Yvonne, you are just the sweetest person by telling us you are so grateful for your followers. You give us so much delightful information and beautiful photos each day, please let me tell you how grateful I am for YOU! I always wondered how you could manage posting every day, so it was an interesting story. Wow! So much work and talent. Sending prayers for your healing (foot). I also enjoy your Sunday posts. Thank you!

    1. Thanks for the prayers Diana! It will only be an act of God that my foot gets any better. Keep praying!

  39. I so enjoy your blog. I have been following you for several years. I love your Sunday devotionals. They are peaceful and inspiring to me. Am anxious to see more phots of your new house! Hope to see you use more color in some of your decorating.

    1. You will see more color Geneva. I work with color all day long so I need a neutral color palette to live in. What till you see the rugs I’ll be using!

      1. Can hardly wait! Thanks for responding!

  40. I stuck it out to the end! I’ve been subscribing since the beginning and have followed you through the numerous changes you’ve made to your home. Wishing I had a hubby with talents like yours. I have a fantastic hubby but not a handyman type! Lol. One tip I can give readers is that if the ads make it hard to read the content, you can click the left end of the search bar and go to reader view. That eliminates the ads so you can read without distraction. Some people have learning and reading disabilities and the pop ups can trigger issues. Anyway, you are inspiring and I’m glad you love what you do. Now my question…whatever happened to the concrete dining table? I couldn’t believe it didn’t move with you!

    1. Nanci of all the things I had to let go of to move to Tanglewood it was the concrete dining room table that hurt the most. It just was way too big to fit into our new home! I sold it to a lovely family who had a big kitchen and they were using it in their kitchen. It went to a good home!

  41. I have searched through On the Menu Monday previous posts MANY times looking for ideas for meals! I look forward to it every Monday. Have a fabulous week!

  42. Carol Jones says:

I read your entire post this morning and enjoyed it as always. Your warmth and enthusiasm come through with everything you write.

  43. Definitely stuck it out to the end!?Thanks for all of your wonderful inspiration!!!

  44. Yvonne
LOVE your blog and your attitude about decorating and enjoying life. I appreciate your info on why/how the commercials are necessary and I just overlook them mostly.
When culling your archives PLEASE don’t lose all the wonderful recipes from a few years back. I often refer back to them to have some of my favorite snacks, meals and ideas.
Thanks for your dedication to StoneGable blog – LOVE it!

  45. I enjoy all of your posts, beautiful photos, and inspirational messages. Thanks for continuing to produce good content, and I pray you continue as long as you’d like to keep working!

  50. Greetings from sunny Arizona! I enjoyed reading your entire post this morning! My parents moved from PA (back in 1952)when they were only 20 years old due to my grandfather’s health. I have always loved visiting your beautiful state – especially the Amish communities. So I truly enjoy your blogs about your community and outdoor living. Our homes are built quite differently here… no attics or basements unfortunately! I would love more ideas for making small spaces “live large!”
    Thank you and Happy Thanksgiving!

  51. Whew! All I can say is, thanks for all you do!
I read your posts each day, used many ideas and made many recipes. Love the meatball recipe the best. Right now I’m rearranging a buffet ( first of all, per your suggestion i removed it from it’s base) going to take photos as you suggest to help with final out ome.

  52. I stuck with it to the end ! ?. Seriously I love your blog and you sharing your faith. Have a good week and good luck in your new home.

  57. Yvonne,
I enjoy all your blog posts and I really look forward to your recipes each week. I have made several of them and they have been delicious. Your pan fried steak is something I use often. When it is too windy to use the grill, which is often in Oklahoma, it works and I don’t know that it isn’t better! I enjoy getting your newsletter but I also enjoy searching your site for inspiration.

    Blessings,
    Yvetta

Your ideas amaze me. Thanks for the extra tips on navigating your site. Sometimes I’m looking to revisit an idea and I feel lost.
    Happy Thanksgiving too!

Stuck it out to the end.
Thanks Yvonne. I’ve been a true fan of Stone Gable for years. You always inspire me.

  66. Reading your daily newsletter is part of my morning routine. Always a takeaway to inspire or lift me up. Thank you!

  67. I love your blog and it’s one of my top three I check daily as I sip my coffee. I’m not a social media person so that says a whole lot for me if I’m checking in on you!
Love your spiritual posts. Gives me a translation when I need it!
    Thanks Y

  68. Hi Yvonne!
I discovered your blog about 6 years ago while I was going through a rough time. Your blog gave me inspiration and when you were on the DTT podcast, I listened from the beginning and so enjoyed you three talking about decorating. (I still listen but really miss you being apart!)
Thank you for all you do! I unsubscribed to several blogs but definitely not yours. It’s my favorite- from Sunday’s inspirational post, Monday’s menu, & everything in between- I look forward to your post.

  69. I am a new visitor and I find your content informative and inspiring. Thanks for your efforts and transparency.

  70. Patricia Coleman says:

Stuck it out to the end.

  71. One cannot help but to read the blog post to the end. Thank you for sharing the beauty in your heart in all these wonderful posts.

  72. I read to the end! Always do. I am hoping we will be getting more “in progress” posts about Tanglewood rather than waiting for the finished project. I like too see how you make decisions in what to do and learn from things you end up not liking. Thanks!

  73. I feel blessed to have found you too! I saw Stone Gable featured in Cottage Journal magazine a few years ago and that’s how my journey began! I have revisited tons of archived post and tried many delicious recipes! I look forward to your newsletter! When I’m giving a decorating tip to someone I say, “my friend Yvonne says this…”! You’re the best!!

  74. Love your blog! I was actually born in Lancaster PA, but moved back south when I was just a few months old. I do still have family there, and love visiting! What really makes me appreciate your blog, emails, etc is your heart for Jesus. Thank you for sharing that along with home decor. I Look forward to more pictures of your new home.

  75. Doroth Galvan says:

    Yvonne,
I am the biggest fan of “On the Menu” and the Scripture lesson. I could eat your selections everyday! I look forward to your Sunday message as well. I laughed when you said you were downsizing as I am also downsizing although I’m not planning to move as quickly as you did. Keep up the good work!
    Doroth

  94. I have followed you for years now but never commented. I have been inspired by so many of your decorating tips. So much so that I saved a picture of your kitchen table( back when it was a darker top and black pedestal). I would look at it weekly and admire it. I finally redid mine last winter the same way and love it. Thanks for all you do.

  95. I stuck it out to the end! I loved this behind the scenes post from my favorite blogger. You’re right- I feel like you’re an old friend even though we’ve never met. I have shared your blog with many friends. You are a pro and we sincerely appreciate you and those behind you!!!!
    Thank you.
Oh, I did read it til the end.

    1. Thanks for sharing StoneGable, Jo Ann! My foot is really resolved, aside from a miracle. The goal became to save my foot. How it is is how it is I’m afraid. But I don’t dwell on it and just move on! Literally!

  123. Yup, to the end. Your blog is a bright light on the blogosphere. Have you done a post on a Christmas Cookie Exchange? I’ll have to look. I make coffee table vignettes for every season due to your inspiration. Many thanks to you and praise to our Loving Lord.

    Hi Yvonne,
I stuck it out until the end! I also wanted to thank YOU for your commitment to this blog. This is the only blog I subscribe to; and by the way, this is the first time I’ve ever sent a comment. I find so much inspiration in the gorgeous pictures of your beautiful home(s)! I also enjoy your sweet spirit! God bless you at this Thanksgiving/Christmas season! Your Dear Friend, Becky

  126. Sharon Millsap says:

Love your gorgeous decorating style, your candidness, your soulful writing, and practicality! You are a perfect bundle of community spirit. Thank you for taking the time to explain to us the full time effort and expense it takes to reach out to us while all we have to do is simply click a button. You work magic! Love you!

  127. Yes I did! Stayed to the end. Love all your “stuff”. Thanks for the chat as I enjoyed my hazelnut coffee. Jo

  128. LOL!! yes, i made it to the end! and i came her for a respite, and got it just like i always do, thank you. i have been wondering about your foot, and hate to hear it is not like it used to be. things on me are not like they used to be either, ha!! for me, it is hauling Christmas down from upstairs; i just sort of drag it down now, rather than carrying… but c’est le vie. i’ve got meals planned this week from your suggestions, thanks! cannot wait to see what you will do with the holidays in your new home. Thanks for ALWAYS being there for us.

  129. All the way to the end. Lots of good info on this post. I love the blog. Thank you.

  130. Donna Terry says:

I read this to the end. Just as I read almost all your info. I look forward to receiving your emails everyday. I can’t wait to see more of your beautiful new home and how you will be decorating it. My husband & I moved into a “new for us” home last December after 35 years in one house. Even though both houses are traditional, the new one is “speaking “ to me in a different way & I am still trying to decorate. It is always an ongoing job, but I love it. Thank you for sharing you ideas. Happy Thanksgiving to you and your family!

  131. Your blog is the best and I look forward to your posts everyday.
Thanks so much for inspiring me to go neutral in our home.
I read this post to the end.

  132. Teresa George says:

Yes, Yvonne, I read till the end! And I am grateful that you share your beautiful home(s) with us every day. I’ve learned so much from you over the years – especially how to style a vignette! Can’t wait to see all you do this Christmas in your new space.

  133. You are the 1st blog that I discovered many years ago. I read to the end as I always do. You started my love of white dishes and tray decor. I have learned so much from you!! You are such an inspiration. Looking forward to the new adventure at Tanglewood. Would love to hear some family updates as well, especially with a new grand baby.

  135. Good Morning Yvonne. I read to the end and was inspired and in awe, as usual. I often find myself thinking of you too…so many facets of your inspiration drift by and through me on a regular basis…decor, of course,…God’s word through you …and the wonderful menus and musings. I try at least one recipe weekly. Often more.
Thank you for all the hard work, creativity and love that is so evident in this special community you have created.

  139. Thanks Yvonne for all you do to share your wonderful gift of creativity. You are truly blessed and so are we to have a beautiful place in Stone Gable.
Looking forward to your Christmas videos. Don’t mind the short commercials.
And yes I read to the end of the post.

  140. Anne Porter says:

Thanks for your sharing of all it takes to be a successful blogger! I drank it all in and was fairly successful, myself, in “blocking out” the ads! Realizing, now, that because of them, we may continue to hear from you on a regular basis! And how I DO look forward to that!! You are authentic, as well as gifted, and I thank God for your life and for your sharing heart!

  141. I made it to the end and enjoyed! Love your blog and inspiration!

  142. Always read your posts and always love your tips. Thanks for sharing and helping us all in some way. Blessings to you and your family, Candy

  143. I made it to the end but it wasn’t a task. I really enjoy your posts and getting an email from you each day is like hearing from a friend.

  144. I loved this post and I can tell you have spoken from the heart. It does take a tremendous amount of work to blog and it can also be extremely time consuming. thanks so much for doing what you do!! I get so much inspiration from your many different posts, whether it’s a new menu item or a spiritual kick in the pants I appreciate it. We just downsized as well into a ranch style home and I am going over my pins of your home for inspiration. I actually showed your flooring to the floor guy as to the color I wanted!! Thanks and keep up the good work.

  148. Barbara Mundall says:

Stuck to the end. I enjoy your decorating pots and they’ve inspired me again and again to check in my cupboards, bring out some things not seen for a while, and get to playing. Many thanks.

  156. Thank you for all the info!! I read through to the end! I look at you as 1 of my “elders in the Lord” and so soak up Every word you say!! HAHA! I Hate it you have a bum leg now 🙁 but no I actually spend too much time on your site probably and so the Holy Ghost convicts me and says “Ok now put it down” HAHA your the best Yvonne!

  157. Yvonne, I have been following you for several years now and the thing I like most is the way you share your Christian faith. Keep sharing Jesus!

  158. You write with such warmth that it was not a chore reading your entire post. I am a newer fan and am so happy I found you. I love your ideas and creativity and am able to translate them into my decor. Thank you for your godly wisdom as well. It is so rare these days. Blessings as you make you new house your home.

  159. Read it to the end! It was an eye opener to me how much work you put into your lovely blogs.
Your Sunday posts have touched me so many times, especially through some difficult times in my life.
Thank you. So sorry about your foot. Happy Thanksgiving.

  160. I commented a few minutes ago but I don’t see it now so I’ll just say it here: maybe we/ *I* look to YOU too much?? Make sure you take care of You too!! Thanks again for all you do

    1. Thank you Megan! I take very good care of me! Thanks for looking out for me my friend!

  161. Paulette Beal says:

I stuck it out to the end….but it was a pleasure and informative to do so. One of the best things I have learned from you is the tray and decorations. I now always have a decorated tray on my countertop in the kitchen and change with the seasons, or sometimes in between. I use my Aunt’s hope chest as a coffee table in our family room and have a decorated tray there also. It makes me happy to see and is often commented on by visitors. Thank you too for your Sunday inspirations. Thank you Yvonne and I look forward as to what you do with your blank pallet of Tanglewood.

    1. Hi Paulette, I’m so glad you are creating vignettes! They add a mini focal point to any room!

  162. Jackie Sanders says:

Love your blog. Very inspiring. Thank you.

  163. I am so thankful that I did indeed stumble on to your blog! Stonegable is my favorite blog and I’m thankful to have found you and all of your inspiration. Thank you for your kind words that made me tear up.

    1. You should see the tears on this end of the computer! I can’t imagine being with a nicer group of women!

  164. Vanessa Breg says:

    Yvonne,

It is you who is a blessing to all of us. I don’t remember how I came across your blog; but it was definitely by divine intervention. I am so grateful for everything I have learned and continue to learn from you. You are the epitome of what a Proverbs 31 woman should be. You are very precious to me and although we may never meet – you feed my soul and into the person I aspire to be. I thank you for that; my sister in Christ. Continued Blessings…

    1. Oh! What beautiful words! I am so humbled!!!!! I am so far from the Proverb 31 woman but what a woman to strive for. Let’s strive together!

  165. Yvonne
I love this blog and web sight and look forward everyday reading and sharing experiences. You are such a light of encouragement …I so appreciate all you give with your knowledge, your decorating wisdom and your love of the Lord and His people. Thank you for being a part of my day!!!
    Blessings back to you..
    Roni

    1. Roni, how nice! Thanks for investing part of your day here at StoneGable.

  166. So thankful I found your blog several years ago. Look forward to each new post. Can hardly wait for more pictures and info on your new place. Lovely so far. Thanks for your hard work and sharing with the rest of us.

  167. Ohhhhh….I feel like I am missing something. I read down to “Did You Know?” and there were about 10 sentence paragraphs after that and then your signature ending. How do I access the rest of the “lots to talk about today?” I don’t think I read all the way to the end. ??? Yikes!

        1. I came to read it on my laptop and it was all here. Glad you were able to fix it. I wonder though, why I did not get a message that you replied to my comment? I wonder if that is a setting I need to change?

          1. I don’t think I leave a message. I’m not sure how to do that

    1. I just emailed you Deb. Thanks so so much for alerting me to the problem. Not sure what happened but I fixed it! Thanks again!

  168. Shirley Ruggles says:

Visiting you while at the courthouse waiting for jury duty. So glad you’re here! ?

    1. Oh, I’ve done that too! Long day! I hope I made it a bit more enjoyable

  169. Hello Yvonne.I live in Akron NY.We woke up 2 10 inches of snow to day.Im sure you will get yours some time soon..we dont live that far from each other so our weather is pretty similar most of the time. The snow has put me in a Christmas state of mind.Thinking of friends and family.I am grateful you call me a friend. I feel a strange sort of connection.May be because we have the same taste. I am a bit confused though. I didn’t think stone gable would be the feature for the holidays decor.I guess ur still working on ur new home. But where ever you are I will be waiting for your next decor inspiration.

    1. Sharon, I’ll still be sharing images and such from StoneGable too! Just because I moved that doesn’t mean all that great content will go away.

  170. I did happen on your blog by accident following a link in another. But you have become my favorite go to for tips, both decorating and recipes. I am so glad that I found you!

  171. Yvonne, I thank you for the many recipes that you have shared and that I have prepared and received praise. I have followed your blog for ten years and have used your decorating ideas in my home. Please know I look forward to read about your new home, Tanglewood and your family. Thank you for the Scripture you post too.

    1. Thanks for your inspiration and especially for the Sunday blog and your explanation of the Word of God, it’s being very helpful in my daily life. Happy Thanksgiving to you and all your followers. Charo from Spain.

  172. Yvonne, I so love visiting you at Stone Gable… I love your decorating ideas and I learn so much from you each and every visit…I am waiting to see more of Tanglewood, I know it is going to be awesome, Blessings to you and your family!

  173. Hi Yvonne! Like all your posts, I read all the way to the end, but the section that began “Did You Know” only contained about 10 sentences, mostly about the newsletter. I then read the majority of the hundreds of comments and everyone is commenting on all the interesting things about your life and your blog that are not in the very very short post I am looking at. I have no idea why I cannot see all the content, but I did read all the way to the very short end of the post I got. I will keep trying to access the rest because I would love to read it ALL!

      1. Mary, I think it was because I was reading it on my phone. On my laptop I can read the whole entire thing….

        1. Thanks for the replies, Liberty! I was on my desktop computer when I got the “short” version of the post. I wondered if it was because I was accessing StoneGable (as always) through Bloglovin’ reader. So I followed instead the link through Yvonne’s newsletter… and SUCCESS!! Glad we both found the WHOLE post because it was very interesting indeed! xo, Mary

  174. Paula Trotter says:

Yvonne, I love your posts and look for inspiration in them. As I’ve stated before, I’m not an ‘all white’ kind of girl so I get excited when I see something you’ve posted that has color ~ because the truth is, I do get inspired by your designs, both in decorating your home and the little ‘pull it together’ pieces.
To be honest, I don’t have the means to do any posting of my own, or own a blog, but I have faith ~ and a lot of inspiration of my own, that one day God will grant me the ability to use the passion that continues to grow in me. I hope that when that day comes I will have people like you, #wowilovethat and #fortheloveofmyhome following and being inspired by me. I love you, Kelly and Melissa so much! 🙂 Have a joyous and blessed Thanksgiving!

  175. Kathi Rose Wilson says:

I SOOOO enjoy your blog. You are my inspiration. Thank you!

  178. Yvonne, I really enjoy your postings, and am really looking forward to seeing much more of your new home, Tanglewood! Thanks for all you do.

  179. The Stone Gable Website is by far my most favorite of them all! Yes, I get inspired when I visit. I love all the decorating posts and love the spiritual posts. I have been reading your posts for at least four years and have never been disappointed. I loved hearing you on the Decorating Tips and Tricks podcast and it just isn’t the same without you. I look forward to each new post and have learned much from your blog. I still have a long way to go as far as making my home as lovely as yours, so you can be sure I will stick around. Thank you, Yvonne, for all that you share. You lift me up both spiritually and as an amateur decorator. God bless.

  180. Stonegable is a refreshing oasis, and you, Yvonne, are a lovely hostess. Thank you for your gifts of encouragement and hospitality.

  181. Yvonne,

Just a note to let you know how very much I have enjoyed your blog over the past three years! Your sage advice, helpful suggestions and pictorial inspirations are so relevant and encouraging for someone who is just beginning home decorating projects. I so enjoyed reading about your lovely home in both your blog and in your decorating course. Truly, I feel like a friend dropping by to chat whenever I read your columns. Wishing you much happiness in your new home and thank you again for sharing your wonderful and creative ideas with all of us.

    Anne

  198. Well I stuck it out because it was interesting to me. I love your blog. Not everything is relevant to me all the time (our Thanksgiving is in October so not too much point reading Thanksgiving content in November) and I take a more colourful approach to my home decor, but there are always great tips and some lovely and easy DIYs and good recipes, so even though my decor style is a bit different there are so many things I love and value about your blog. It’s a go to for me.

  199. Sharon Passarelli says:

I stumbled on you site a year ago. I so enjoy your suggestions for decorating and tutorials. Look forward every day to your emails.

  200. Dear Yvonne,
What a great post to recap all that your blog has to offer! I’m sure many folks might not realize all that it takes to run a blog business! I am a small business owner and I can tell you my clients do not! Last year at this time I had just been diagnosed with Hodgkin Lymphoma and was starting 6 months of chemo. I’d been reading your blog for a couple of years and reading familiar blogs each week was such a great distraction for me when I wasn’t feeling so great. It really helps to transport your mind to another wonderful place and not just be sitting there thinking about how rotten you feel. So in addition to all the inspiration you mentioned I’ll bet you didn’t know you might be a part of someone’s “mental and physical” healing activity! LOL! I have thoroughly enjoyed your posts and had great success with some of your recipes! I can say your blog is one that I am thankful for and I wish you and your family a lovely Thanksgiving in your new home at Tanglewood. So, sweet blog friend, much continued success and happiness now and in the coming New Year! Very warm regards, Debra

    1. Debra, thank you so much for leaving such a long comment and telling us your story! God bless you! I am more than thrilled to know StoneGable was a comfort to you. I just prayed for you and will continue to! Happy Thanksgiving, my friend! xoxo

      1. Yvonne, thank you so much for your prayers! Those are most important of all….He is the great healer and I’m thankful for his healing hand in my life! And I will pray for your continued healing as well. XO Deb

          1. Thanks for all the info. Love your blog!!! You answered so many questions, thanks!

  201. I have been blest by your inspirational posts! I too love the lord an his word!! Thank you for those and also all the tips on homemaking an making home a place for our families to be cozy and safe!! Sometimes I envision a world of darkness an all the Christian homes as shining lights an wonder is that what God sees when He looks down from heaven! Blessings to you an yours!!!

  202. Yvonne, I read to the end and you had a lot of important things to tell us! You have such a gracious way of making us (your readers) feel like true friends. Thank you for that. I will continue to pray for you and Bobby as you settle into your new home and surroundings. And, for your continuing physical healing and recovery. I certainly enjoy your wonderful decorating ideas but I especially love your sharing of God’s word. As you write just imagine all of your eager listeners out here seated at your feet, as you teach His word from your heart to ours. Looking forward to your new posts. Blessings!

  203. I read to the end of the post and learned some things about your site. I look forward to your posts especially the “On the Menu” posts, so helpful. Thank you…

    Happy Thanksgiving!

  205. Made it to end 🙂 I think your videos are the best part of your blog.

  206. Well, you’re correct – I did ‘stumble’ across StoneGable the very first time I read it. And I loved it! Now, I’m back every day. I love getting to see your style, love the weekly menus, and most of all, I love your inspirational and Christ-centered messages. I know it’s a lot of work and I’m sorry for the problem with your left foot. We’ll pray for God’s healing hands to wrap you up!

  207. Yvonne, you are just too precious for words. I loved this post and your “inside look” at the goings-on at Stone Gable. I never miss a single post from SG. What an inspiration! You have given me so many ideas, not just for delicious food and beautiful decorating, but for blogging style. I am a blogger myself, (new) so the SG design is something I set as a high standard. Thank you so much for all you do. Blogging is a lot of work and you have it mastered! Love, P

  208. Yvonne, I have read your blog for a few years now and love it! Yes of course I stuck with you ! I Wish you and your family a beautiful Thanksgiving. I am so sorry you have had to endure so much with your foot. You have withstood the trial well. Prayers for continued healing.

    1. Hi Diane! I had so much support and tons of prayers and even though my foot pretty much is what it is I am not giving up hope! Thank you for praying!

  238. Stuck it out to the end! Great blog ! I always read everything and the comments/your responses too! Your Captcha thing doesn’t like me though! I usually have to type my comments a few times for them to go to the website! Maybe I should switch to Chrome or Firefox.

    Happy Thanksgiving!

      1. I’m not able to post without using it. I found that using other browsers work better. Although I like IE for their favorites feature, but I have issues posting using it!

  243. Yvonne, I absolutely enjoy reading all of your posts!! I was sitting on the edge of my seat to see what your big reveal was a while back. An audible gasp left me as I read that you sold Stone Gable and were moving to Tanglewood. Thank you for taking the time to “show us around” your blog and sharing just how much work goes into it. I’m a new blogger myself and am in awe at how beautiful your presentations are. I admit to saving your emails until after work when I can sit, enjoy a glass of wine, and focus on what you shared. Looking forward to more! ~ Cathy

  244. I’m so thankful I found your website!

  245. Yvonne, you inspire me. I enjoy reading your blog and try to incorporate your tips and decorating suggestions in my home.
I have a question. How do you prevent your smaller table tops (side table, coffee table) from being scratched or marred from the pots, pottery, baskets, etc. that you place on top. I use a table runner on my dining room table and occasionally a runner on my coffee table, but what to do with a side table or bed side table?
    Thank you.

    1. My tables mostly have a rough finish and we don’t put anything hard down on them. Use coasters for drinks! If you have very fine furniture surfaces you can have glass cut and beveled to fit the top of your furniture.

      1. Thanks for your suggestions.

  246. Cecilia from Georgia says:

I’m catching up and so glad I read this! Very interesting. I had no idea what goes into a blogging career but now I see it is really hard work and expensive! I am so glad you are still loving your blog and hope to read StoneGable for many more years!

I read it all! Very informative

  251. Yvonne, I’m a big fan of your blog, decor, and writing. One of the reasons your blog is so easy to read is that your writing is conversational. Thank you for all the info about StoneGable. I think I had already clicked on everything before this pos. I found it easy to navigate, but I’m sure this information was enlightening to many of your readers.
All the best, and may God bless you!

    1. Dear Charo, my friend in Spain! How I so enjoy your emails and all you share with me! I would love to meet you someday!

  256. Lucia Corwin says:

I love your site and use so many of your inspiring ideas. I have just moved into a house (for which I am very grateful), that is nothing like my dream house. I am going to chronicle the changes I am able to make with a very tight budget. I’m wondering how your photographer gets the dreamy soft white backgrounds in all of your vignettes? I also wonder if it is possible to do on my phone? If my ideas come to reality, I will share the finished room.

  257. Love your site Yvonne! Not just the decorating advice (which is fabulous), but your spiritual advice as well. Always look forward to seeing your e-mails in my box!
    Hugs,
    Rebecca
