I cleaned the porch off around the door area then laid down a small rectangular black and white striped cotton rug.
I’ve used this black and white rug around the porch for a few years. Under rocking chairs mostly. But recently, I’ve used it at the front door!
Because my front door and porch are under a roof the rug does not get too too dirty. I usually take my stick vacuum out and give it a quick vacuum when I vacuum the front door.
And when the dirt shows I use the hose to spray it off! So easy, right?
Using that extra layer of a small indoor/outdoor rug makes all the difference in the look of my front door.

I have a coir mat similar to the one in the picture. Unfortunately after a heavy downpour the writing has practically disappeared! Any idea to revive the lettering?
