THE SCOOP #305

THE SCOOP #305- Get the best of your favorite blogs all in one place. Lots of Christmas posts too!

This is a big week for me! Because I’m hosting Christmas and every room at StoneGable will be filled I’ve got lots of planning to do! Menus for the weekend and for Christmas day, cleaning, laundry and all the other things that go along with getting our guest rooms, home, and table ready for those I love! But most of all I want to be a Fezziwig! You remember the dear and happy hosts in Charles Dicken’s The Christmas Carol? They were so loveable and the ideal hosts! Because the joy of Christmas lived in their hearts…

so they were able to love and enjoy everyone who came to their home. Being a Fezziwig means preparing my attitude! And reveling in the joy and love and blessings of filling my home with the voices and laughter of those I love best! I think that is the biggest and best preparation of all, don’t you think? Let’s prepare to be a Fezziwig and not sweat the small or rather large stuff this Christmas season. Let’s look for and enjoy our blessings!

From one Fezziwig to another… welcome to THE SCOOP!

I’m calling this the ALL CHRISTMAS ALL THE TIME EDITION! There are so many wonderful Christmas things to share today! But first…

Today on our podcast, Decorating Tips And Tricks, we are talking about COLOR TRENDS FOR 2018. I’m just loving what I’m seeing forecasted. But maybe my co-hosts are not as thrilled as I am! We love talking about trends and what’s hot and what’s not. But honestly, we don’t take them too seriously!

  1. Absolutely too many advertisement photos on this site which interrupt the viewer’s reading and enjoyment of this blog. I’m near ready to abandon this site after 6 years of following.

    1. Carol, I have fewer ads then I did a year ago. I am extremely appreciative of my sponsors. They keep StoneGable going. You have no idea how much $$$$ it takes to run a blog like StoneGable. I need those sponsors. I hope you will overlook them (like you would if reading a magazine… and you are paying for it) if they do not interest you and look to all the ideas and images that I bring to my fabulous readers every day! I work hard to bring the best I can to you! I hope you can appreciate that instead of the ads. Thanks for understanding! xo

  2. Hope you are having a wonderful holiday season, Yvonne! Thanks for hosting!

  8. Sharon Knerr says:

Really interesting discussion on colors, color trends, and the use of metallic. Gave me some new (neutral) colors to consider. I only use trend colors as accents, but it’s always insightful to hear what designers are looking forward to using. Thanks again for another enjoyable podcast!

  9. Katherine says:

Perfect reminder about Fezziwig. It’s less about what ot how you decorated but about the warm and welcoming attitude

  10. Richella Parham says:

Oh, Yvonne, I LOVE the call to be a Fezziwig! What a great way to look at things. Wishing you all the merriment of the season as you prepare to host your precious family and friends.

In this midst of all that, thank you so much for hosting The Scoop! I’m so grateful to be able to share a post about my Christmas tree (and some lessons I’ve learned from it). I appreciate all the work you put into hosting the party. Bless you!
