THE SCOOP #196-stonegableblog

Welcome back to THE SCOOP! I hope you are getting ready for Thanksgiving! Here at StoneGable we are in full “crossholidation” mode! Crossholidation is a word I made up years ago to describe when Christmas decorations are put up before Thanksgiving. It really is sorta a pet peeve of mine! But as a blogger I usually stay about 6 weeks ahead of the season to give you ideas and inspiration and time to recreate some of of the projects and decorations you see on my blog in your own style. And have time to do it! So, one of my trees goes up this week! Can you believe it?

I have a post that might help you! It’s 10 EASY TIPS FOR SETTING THE BEST THANKSGIVING TABLE EVER! If you are hosting Thanksgiving you want to get a jump on planning your table! And make sure you check out THE BEST THANKSGIVING TIP YOU WILL EVER GET. If you are hosting Thanksgiving it is a must read!

Hi everyone! Thanks so much for taking time out of your busy week to join us! November has arrived and soon the holidays will be fast upon us! I don’t know about you, but I am in full Thanksgiving mode and even starting to think ahead about Christmas! And I have a feeling that there will be lots of inspiration for both among today’s shares from you, our oh-so-talented guests!

I am excited to share a quick and super-easy idea for creating some special accents for your holiday table…my EASY POMEGRANATE CANDLEHOLDERS! They only take five minutes to assemble and are guaranteed to have your guests ooohing and ahhhing! You will find a complete tutorial HERE as well as links to more fabulous Christmas-y ideas from our very talented group of bloggers at Celebrations of Home!

And with Thanksgiving only a few short weeks away,  I have gathered up all of my favorites in one place for my THANKSGIVING TABLESCAPE INSPIRATION…some elegant, some rustic but all easy and inexpensive to create! I hope you will check them out!

It’s always so hard to choose, but  here are a few of my favorites from last week’s party!

Kandice from JUST THE WOODS shared her amazing make-over of this empire-style buffet! Gotta love the color…so rich!

Oh, my! Emilie at OH MY! SUGAR HIGH used a waffle iron to make these sweet chocolate chip waffle cookies…definitely on my must-try list!

I love this idea from Jenny at BLOOM DESIGNS…Thanksgiving place cards that serve as napkin rings! You can edit them to suit your guest list, too!

This idea has me thinking that I need to plant an herb garden…wonderful herb basting brushes from Daune at COTTAGE IN THE WOODS. They would make wonderful hostess gifts, too!

And finally, if you are hosting Thanksgiving for the first time, or even if you are a pro, here are some wonderful tips from Erin of South to Southwest that she shared on KRYSTAL’S KITSCH.

And now…I want to see what you have to share, so let’s get on with the party!

  7. I start my Xmas decorating November 1st! But not this year as we are leaving for Japan on Tuesday (our son is getting married, he lives there) and there is just too much to do! we are returning a few days before Xmas. I’m hoping I will be able to get the Xmas tree up when we return, as I am having everyone for Christmas dinner (I know I’m completely nuts) but its a family tradition to have it at our house every year! and I absolutely love it!
