20 BEST HOME DECOR DIY’S OF 2015
When I see something in a store that catches my eye I often try to figure out a way to make something similar for a whole lot less! If you hear a loud lady in the isle of your favorite shopping haunt say, “Oh, I can make that”, it’s probably me! I have more diy ideas, big and small, than I have time to do them! There are only two techniques that I’ve found I don’t really care for… tin punching, because I hate the noise and quilting. Now, that really surprises me because I love to work with fabric. Today I’m sharing the 20 best home decor diy’s from this ending year. BTW… no tin punch or quilting in the group!
These are diy’s for all season and for home and garden AND in no particular order! Enjoy the best home decor diy’s of 2015!
5 FUN EASY THINGS TO MAKE FOR YOUR OUTDOOR SPACES
To start off… here’s a little bundle of idea for outdoor spaces. Sorta a 5 in 1! If you have an outdoor space these might be worth a look!
TEXTURED MOSS BALLS
Moss balls are expensive and one of those ideas that I said “I can do that” and I did! So easy and a fraction of the cost of speciality store moss balls.
PLANKING A WALL THE EASY WAY
I love love love these beautiful walls. We (and when I say “we” I mean Bobby) planked 2 walls this year. They add so much interest to my rooms. And in January we are planking the area above our fireplace. We figured out a very easy peasy way to create these artful walls without a whole bunch of spacing!
TORN TISSUE EGGS
This was the most popular post at StoneGable last spring. I’m making a whole bunch more for this spring. They are ridiculously easy to make and look stunning! Start saving blown out eggs about a month before you want to do this project!
SPARKLING WHITE LANTERN CHRISTMAS ORNAMENT
The company that sells these darling white lanterns sold out when this post went live. The kind owners called me to thank me. These ornament looked so pretty on my small bedroom tree this year!
NO SEW BURLAP FLOWER PILLOW
What an easy pillow to make! I’m excited to make one using felted wool this winter. If you can trace and cut a circle you can make this!
POTTERY BARN INSPIRED ROPE WRAPPED CANDLEHOLDER
I bought two candle cylinders at the dollar store and made these great looking candle holders at a fraction of the Pottery Barn price! I glued starfish to the front of them but the embellishing possibilities are endless! These would make an amazing gift!
UPCYCLING A LAMPSHADE USING PAINT
I bet you have an old lampshade laying around your house. Upscale it and put it to work. I love the dramatic look of black!
PINECONE AND ACORN FLOWER NAPKIN RINGS
Goodness, these were so easy to make and look A-MAZING! They cost nothing but a few cents for the burlap to wrap around the toilet paper roll. Everyone loved these at our fall table!
SUCCULENT TOPPED PUMPKIN
Isn’t this a WOW factor pumpkin and it only took a couple minutes to make! The succulents make a stunning top. When Thanksgiving was over, I scooped the succulents off the top and planted them in a gravy boat. They now live on my kitchen windowsill!
NO SEW POTTERY BARN INSPIRED PATRIOTIC STARS
Another WOW factor diy. My patriotic pinwheels hung above my mantel all last summer summer. Everyone who came to visit loved them!
BITTERSWEET WREATH
I have a thing for bittersweet in the fall! Real bittersweet does not hold up well so I went the faux route for this brambly wreath.
SPRING TULIP WREATH
This was the favorite wreath I made this year! The orange parrot tulips and the green flowers worked so well together on my blue/grey door. And how cute is our initial on the wreath sporting a little nest with a tiny green egg in it?
GREEN APPLE CENTERPIECE
My green apple centerpiece can be transformed so many ways. Use one apple on a large leaf at each place setting, in a grouping like shown below, or lined on a window. Wouldn’t these look gorgeous incorporated into a bridal centerpiece?
NATURAL TWIG GARDEN MARKERS
My kitchen garden never looked better than with these easy to make little herb markers.

PAINT WASHING TERRACOTTA POTS

Perfect for your front door from January till April. It was therapeutic to wrap those little yarn balls!
NO SEW RUNNER MADE FROM A TABLECLOTH
Do you throw out tablecloths that have been ruined by a stain? How about making a table runner from the part that is still good?
