Congratulations on the Super Bowl win, Yvonne! It’s always exciting to be rooting for the winning team. Recipes look delicious this week. I just tried a recipe for borscht and it is delicious. It’s always fun to see what recipes other adventurous cooks are trying. Have a nice week, and stay warm!

    1. Here’s the funny thing, I have never rooted for the winning team when it comes to professional football. It is amazing! Thanks, EAGLES!

  3. Elaine Wesselman says:

Yvonne! So happy for all of Philly!, from Ohio! What a game! I had a house full of happy people! Thank you for your recipes. I love the black bean casserole you had recently. Praying you continue healing. Blessings.

  4. Karen VanLoo says:

Congrats to the Eagles! Love the yummy recipes today, that beef stew looks delicious. You just made me hungry.

  5. Congrats on your he Eagles victory. I am from the other side of the state and a Steeler fan. I have never liked the Eagles mainly because most their fans are horrible, present company excepted. Having said that, I couldn’t be happier than that they beat the evil Pats. I hope Nick Foles gets everything he deserves,he is such a good guy and he should reap the benefits.
Look forward to your weekly menus. So many good recipes!

Yvonne, I am now an big Eagles fan! (I live in GA.) What a blessing to watch a team, players and coach, give glory to our Lord and Savior for their success. Pulled for them throughout the entire game. BTW, I hope the NFL learned a few lessons this year about loving our great nation too. Always enjoy your Blog.

  7. I am on the Pittsburgh side of PA, and live in a house full of diehard Steelers obsessed fans, but we were ALL rooting for the Eagles, and are so happy that the Patriots lost! My son goes to Medical school in Philly and he said the city went nuts!!! So happy for you all. Also it was nice to see the MVP give glory to God. At that point I was waiting for This Is Us to come on, but was brought to tears that he gave credit to God for his accomplishments.

  8. Jeannette Wiggins says:

thank you for the recipe links. These all sound so amazing. Thinking of using the pasta one this week, but substituting Kale for the Spinach. Love your blog and your podcast. Thank you for your inspiration. You’ve touched my life in a positive way.

  9. Yvonne, as I watched the game last night I was thinking of you. Perhaps it was your prayers and enthusiasm that carried your team. It was a great game- teams were well matched. I liked that Coach Lurie thanked God for His part in the Eagles win. All things flow through Him! Enjoy the victory! Now we just need to get that ankle of yours better! Blessings, Susan

  10. Congratulations on the Eagles win! I remember when our (former) local team, the St. Louis Rams, won the Super Bowl. There was unity and harmony in our community, and everyone was ecstatic. Enjoy!

  11. Congratulations to the Eagles! it’s so exciting when your team wins the Superbowl. I’m not even a sports fan, but can’t help to get caught up in the excitement when our Green Bay Packers get to the big game. Thanks for sharing such great recipes. I made your Nani’s Sauted Chicken last week and my husband really loved it. Definitely a keeper!

  12. We are Eagles fans too!!!!! My husband keeps walking around the house saying “I can’t believe the Eagles won the Super Bowl!” He’s been an Eagles fan since the womb, LOL. Thanks for all the yummy recipes, I love your blog.

  13. Yvonne- I love your blog and read your posts every day. I have to apologize that my first comment is a complaint, but you should know how your column presents itself. For the past several times I click over from the email link to read your blog, I am rudely faced with the same pop up ad asking me to complete a survey about using Chrome as my browser. I don’t want to answer an ad nor do I need a chance to win anything. IF this newest obstruction to view your site is something you have changed, please consider removing it as it truly is negatively influencing my pleasure of reading your blog. Please accept my apologies if you have changed nothing to create this unpleasant pop up. I just want to enjoy my experience without having to close the ad and click over to your blog a second time each day.

    1. Connie Fowler says:

      Mine doesn’t do that.

    2. This is not my pop up Phyllis. I will look into though. Thanks for letting me know!

It’s been a long time since I enjoyed a Super Bowl game as much as I enjoyed last night’s! What a wonderful game, and WOW! what an outcome! Fly Eagles Fly! We were pulling hard for the Eagles last night, so I can imagine what it was like in your house. Congratulations to a wonderful team that includes so many godly men! I’m planning to be in Philadelphia the first week of April; I’m wondering if the city will just seem different now that the Eagles are world champs? 🙂

Thank you as always for the delicious looking recipes. Enjoy your week!

  19. Hi Yvonne! I was so happy when I found out that your Eagles won!!! We are not football fans at all! We only watch the super bowl for the commercials! We did not watch it this year, because of our own personal feelings about some things. I’m just so glad that your team won! These recipes look delicious and I’m trying the beef stew today! I love slow cooker meals because I can get so much done while it simmers away! Thanks for sharing!

  20. Mary Garcia says:

I made the slow cooker beef stew last night. My husband and I just loved it and sopped up some of the gravy with warm crusty bread. I included some parsnips in the stew as well. Yummy cold winter day dinner!

  21. So many delicious recipes. I’m looking forward to trying the salmon and rice.

  22. Thank you for the great recipes this week. The beef stew looks yummy!

  23. Hi,
I tried to send you a message through the Contact page, but it says your Captcha is not working?….

  24. Mary Stevens says:

We had the pork chops last night they were really really great~! Tonight going to try the pasta dish! I love pasta!!!!

  25. I made the Stromboli last night — and it was so EASY. Thank you for sharing that recipe. (I used Italian sausage & cheese, rather than ham and cheese). My son helped, because I believe we learn by doing — especially in the kitchen.

  26. Hi. Love your style and posts. Could you please tell me where you purchased your plates pictured in your food segment?

    1. Hi Jen, the plates came from HomeGoods. I love to shop there because they usually carry fabulous white dishes.
