MY FAVORITE BRUNCH TABLE

This week is MY CHRISTMAS FAVORITES week! I love to set a pretty table and this year is no different even though it’s been such a strange year. It is so important to continue to do things that bring us joy! Today’s tartan table is set for Christmas brunch, a StoneGable tradition!

Tartan has made a big comeback this Christmas!

It’s everywhere! And I am thrilled. I hopped on the tartan bandwagon right away!

Our Scottish heritage made tartan’s popular resurgence so welcomed here at StoneGable!

Today’s Christmas table is set for a simple and delicious brunch. Of course, my inspiration came from the tartan napkins boldly displayed at each place but there is also a good deal of woodland charm infused in this table too!

Take a seat and I’ll pour you something hot and delicious!

The tartan napkins are the star of this table!

The chargers are little footed log slices! And there are little faux evergreen wreaths in between the charger and white plates.

Just for fun I added small ball ornaments and a couple sprigs of greens in the glasses.

The centerpiece was so simple to make! I like to break up the dark wood and evergreens with something white.

As family holiday needs have changed over the past couple of years, my husband and I have started a new tradition of dinner for two (just us!) in front of the fire. This year I decided on a more natural theme for decorating, so our dinner table reflects that with chunky wooden chargers (I think we have the same ones!), my Italian countryside dinnerware, and my new santa salad plates (purchased at Orchard Supply and Hardware (who knew?). I will use my evergreen and cream plaid napkins and copper silverware and a mix of red and clear cut crystal for the glassware. I have a couple of centerpiece options available – I think I will just wait and see which one grabs me. Thank you for always being an inspiration!

  55. Yvonne,

Wow, I just love your bold style! There are so many lovely elements on this table but it’s the way it all comes together that really makes an impact. The wreaths under the plates are fabulous!! Love the bark servers used as chargers, too.

  85. Girgeous, as always! I love to tablescape. However, I have to wonder wonder about some of the things that are used on the table. Are they simply removed when it is time to serve? Such as the goblets…do you just empty before serving? If fell as though I am a bit conservative as I’m not sure of the whole process!

    1. Yes, Carolyn. They are emptied into a little bowl and given a quick rinse. But this tablescape will sit on my table for over 2 weeks before I use it. Hope this helps.
