A PATIO POND AND A POND GIVEAWAY

PATIO POND- a self contained pond and squirter-stonegableblog.com

I’ve always dreamed of having a pond. The sound of running or spitting water is so relaxing and enjoyable to me!!!! I’ve dreamed of darting fish and floating plants that dance on the water when it moves! I have always loved the idea of a pond! I’ve wanted the fun and beauty a pond offers, but I really did not want the upkeep. Happily some dreams do come true… and my pond dream has in the form of an Aquascape patio pond! I’ve been enjoying the cooling sound of running water and the pleasure of feeding my shy but friendly little fish for most of this summer. AND YOU CAN TOO HAVE ONE TOO!!!! GIVEAWAY AT THE BOTTOM OF THIS POST!

PATIO POND-pond on patio-stonegableblog.com

A big thank you to the kind folks at Aquascape for sending me this fabulous patio pond, pump and adorable frog spitter!

The patio pond I chose is a 33 inch square slate container that works perfectly with the stone in on my patio! I just love it’s architectural shape!!! What a perfect addition to my patio! It sits on the far edge of the patio near the steps to the fire pit so it can be seen (and heard) from everywhere on the patio.

Aquascape has so many shapes and sizes of patio ponds! And they come in a variety of finishes too! Something for everyone!!!!

All I had to do was fill the patio pond up with water and plug in the filter and pump. So easy peasy! No digging and laying down sand and a liner. No rocks to carry and lay to hide the edges of the liner. Just fill and plug in!

Aquascape has an amazing video that shows how easy it is to set up a patio pond and how beautiful they can look! Click HERE to see the video.

The little frog spitter is my very favorite part of my patio pond. Isn’t he just so sweet? And boy does he ever spit. I can hear the water as soon as I step out of my back door.

PATIO POND-little frog-stonegableblog.com

He sits happily on a ledge in the patio pond spitting and squirting and making magical water sounds all day and night!

We also have 3 shy fish… d’Artagnan, Porthos and Aramis! Yes, like the Three Musketeers. They come out mostly in the evening and when they are fed. And I just found out they are also very camera shy!!!

PATIO POND-fish-stonegableblog.com

The patio pond started out with 2 small water hyacinths and now we have a pond full. I’m going to have to give away half of these… they are prolific! We chose floating plants because our patio can get windy and tall plants would probably get knocked over.

I’m thrilled, entertained and delighted with the Aquascape  patio pond!!!! It’s added an extra layer of beauty and enjoyment to our whole back yard!

  6. I absolutely adore this pond! We have a large in ground pond, but would LOVE to have this one! We use Aquascapes pond products and they are outstanding!

  7. There is nothing like the sound of water, be it spitting, spraying, waves crashing, you name it! I love your little pond! We used to have a very large pond at a past residence, so I can tell you with experience that your fish will become less and less shy. Mine could hear the sliding glass door open and would come right to where I fed them, even when I wasn’t feeding them. Do be careful that birds don’t come and eat them up. Perhaps put something small in the bottom where they can hide and the birds can’t get to them. I used a plastic bowl with some holes cut in it big enough for the fish to get through and then just put something heavy on top of it to keep it from floating. Enjoy your pond and your ‘three musketeers’!

    1. Chloe, the pond has a great ledge that the fish can be under and the frog can sit on.

    2. Hi Chloe! The name Crabtree is uniquely original, but everybody seems to know one! I should know because I am a Crabtree too! Blessings! Nancy
