ON THE MENU WEEK OF NOV 26TH- A week's worth of scrumptious recipes make with you in mind!Oh, YUM! Did you have a delicious Thanksgiving? Mine was scrumptious! And I got my fill of stuffing and gravy. Now it’s time for gingerbread men and candy canes and some hearty cold-weather meals. I must admit I love the smell of a soup or stew simmering away on my cooktop. Here’s what’s on the menu this week…

MONDAY

I’m using my Thanksgiving Turkey carcass to make a flavorful turkey stock/broth for Fiesta Turkey Soup! I can’t wait to have it cooking in my kitchen! Don’t throw it away!!!!!! Make stock! So much better than the box! See a great tutorial for making stock HERE.

TUESDAY

I can’t go too long without a spaghetti and meatball dinner. And I crave Grandma Lo Bianco’s scrumptious and easy to make meatballs! If you make one thing this week it should be these meatballs. But please read the story behind them… you just may be sitting outside of the pearly gates with me and my friend Fran!!!

 

WEDNESDAY

Pinch Of Yum was one of the first foodie blogs I followed. This is such a gorgeous blog and a must read! Today I’m making my favorite chicken dish.

THURSDAY

Oh, I can’t wait to make this fabulous sounding recipe! Gotta love a dish that has crabmeat and puff pastry in the recipe!

Shrimp makes an easy meal and is so delicious especially this recipe from Gimme Some Oven.

Our son loves Shepherd’s pie. So when he comes to visit with his family I put it on the menu!!!!

TREAT OF THE WEEK

Now is the time to start thinking about those Christmas Cookies. For most cookies, you can make the dough ahead and freeze it. My GROWN UP GINGERBREAD COOKIES  are no exception. This is one of the first recipes I created when I started blogging. The pictures are dreadful but the recipes are one of the best!

  5. Have you already tried the Jumbo Lump Crab pot Pie? It looks and sounds delicious. A little brandy doesn’t hurt, either.
