HAPPY MOTHER’S DAY! I hope your Mother’s Day is filled with those you love! This week we will be celebrating Mother’s Day here at StoneGable. And we have lots more to be thankful for than last year. My first grandchild is not 6 months old. And Anderson is the apple of my eye! And we are waiting with great anticipation for the arrival of Emma Kate in just a couple weeks! I am one happy mom and Gigi!
Here’s what’s on the menu this week…
SUNDAY- MOTHER’S DAY BRUNCH
This mother’s day I have many things to celebrate! We are celebrating with a Mother’s Day Brunch!
I wish every woman reading this HAPPY MOTHER’S DAY!
I have a love/hate relationship with pork. I remember when I was a young girl growing up in England, pork was scrumptious. Actually, it was my favorite thing my mom made. But now, pork is very bland and a far far cry from it’s scrumptious, full of fat, beginnings. Yes, I love that it’s healthier but it certainly is NOT tastier! So I’m always in a search for ways to bring flavor into a pork recipe. Fruit is a wonderful way to infuse flavor into any recipe!
The potatoes are from an oldie but goodie recipe. The photography needs a little help, but not the recipes!
- GLAZED PORK TENDERLOIN WITH FRESH PLUMS
- MUFFIN TIN ONION GRUYERE POTATO STACKS
- ROASTED ORGANIC CARROTS
One of the best things about being a blogger is finding other blogs and bloggers you just love! So, while searching for one of my favorite foods, quesadillas, I came across ONCE UPON A CHEF a truly amazing foodie blog. Jenn Segal is a classically trained chef and cookbook author. Her recipes look delicious! This is a blog really worth checking out!
Chipotle is like a magic word to me. It has such a hold on me and I’m drawn into any recipe with that glorious word in it! YUM!
- CHIPOTLE CHICKEN QUESADILLAS
- HOMEMADE REFRIED BEANS
If you make one thing this week, this should be it. The recipe is easy and company worthy recipe. The flavors are purely spring!
- SALMON, ASPARAGUS AND BOW TIE PASTA IN A SHERRY CREAM SAUCE
- MIXED GREENS WITH CHAMPAGNE VIGAIRETTE
I’m a huge fan of cobb salad and the only thing that would make it better is lobster! So, ta-da… Lobster Cobb Salad! If you like to cook seasonally and healthy then you should check out Skinnytaste! This blog is gorgeous and health-concious with beautiful images and recipes. A must read!
I’m hoping to get out in the garden this weekend. Bobby will be doing most of the work but I hope to be out of the wheelchair and at least sitting near the veggie garden! When the evenings are nice, you will find Bobby andmeI in the garden and on the patio all summer long! We are getting the grill out and enjoying an evening dining al fresco.
- GRILLED SAUSAGE, ONIONS, AND PEPPERS
- ROASTED POTATOES
- ARUGULA SALAD WITH SHAVED PARMESAN CHEESE
I’ve been “fish happy” lately. Craving the fresh taste of delicious seafood! Fresh Char is one of my favorites!
Here’s to a yummy week!
