Fall here in Lancaster County came right on time this year! For the last few years, fall had a hard time getting itself together so it felt like we were still in the fall season at Christmastime! But not this year! Yay! It’s beautiful and cool-ish and I’m ready to cook some delicious soups and stews and hearty fall food!

The menu this week is varied and tasty and the extra recipes at the end of the post are fall on a plate!

Enjoy this week and make some great, scrumptious food!

Here’s what’s On The Menu for the week of October 17th.

MONDAY

Chicken Piccata is one of my favorite meals. Delicious, lemony, and easy to make. Treat your family to this company-worthy meal.

This scrumptious recipe is from one of my favorite foodie blogs, A Pinch Of Yum.

And the salad on the menu pairs wonderfully with the Piccata.

TUESDAY

We are such carnivores here at StoneGable! And we love steak in all its forms! This is such a beautiful recipe! Steak and mushrooms! YUM!

If you can’t find steak tips try using flank steak.

This recipe is from The Kitchn.

Our family was here for a long weekend and my daughter Jacqueline made us this fabulous dinner using the recipes below. This is now one of my very favorite dinners! And guess what… she left the leftovers. Delicious and fresh! A must-try!

THURSDAY

Have you ever had Bonefish Grill’s Bang Bang Shrimp? If not make reservations tonight and GO!

Really, they are addictive and absolutely scrumptious. My son Christopher and I went to lunch on Saturday and shared a pile of them.

I’m ready for a copycat version I can make at home anytime I want this delicious dish! And I’m thinking I can probably use the recipe to make Bang Bang Chicken!

Thanks, Dinner Then Dessert!

FRIDAY

Salmon is a hearty fish that is heart-healthy too. And it is even better when served with a sweet and garlicky sauce! Wild-caught salmon is pricy but so healthy so this is a meal I splurge on! And I am not a fan of Sockeye Salmon I opt for another variety of wild-caught.

I like to cook an easy dinner on Fridays because Bobby and I usually watch a show or play cards or a game. This salmon dinner cooks up in about 15 minutes so it is perfect for a Friday night in.

This yummy recipe comes from Rasa Malaysia.

SATURDAY

Pasta is one of my family’s favorite dinners! So we are getting together and Grandma Lo Bianco’s Meatballs and pasta are on the menu.

On The Menu Week Of October 17th- spaghetti and meatballs

I make a double batch of these delicious meatballs and freeze them for a quick meal!

SUNDAY

Is Sunday dinner still a “thing”? I love having a delicious and filling dinner on Sunday with family and/or friends.

Tonight my best friend is joining us for a delicious and easy baked chicken from one of my favorite foodie blogs. Thanks, Natasha from Salt and Lavender.

TREAT OF THE WEEK

Oh YUM! We all love carrot cake! And I especially love this cake because it is made in a 9 x 13 pan! I’m going to try to make it early in the week and freeze it and then thaw it and ice it for our family dinner.

Carrot cake has so many beautiful flavors that feel like fall!

This wonderful treat comes to us from Holly at Spend With Pennies.

  2. Yvonne,
Yes I missed you. Was so worried something happened to you or your family. Thank God it was only snow and a computer! Terrible at the time but your computer has been replaced and snow melts. Love the menu this week and plan to add the pineapple casserole and the carrot cake to my Easter dinner. Have a beautiful and blessed day on which we celebrate the rebirth of our Lord.

Yes Yvonne I missed you but more than that I was worried about you. I thought you might be having surgeries on your foot. You were in my prayers! So glad you are okay!

    1. Elaine surgeries are all over… I hope! I had 7 surgeries from Jan 15 to Feb 28th. And worked right through them. I plan to be running around my garden this summer and running after my grandbabies!

  10. So glad all is okay! We have a similar brunch with ham, kielbasa, egg cheese, fresh pineapple, strawberries with sour cream and brown sugar to dip them in, and nut roll. My brother-in-law is Greek and they have a “egg fight” tradition that we adopted. Have a blessed Easter!

  11. Can’t go wrong with a Stone Gable recipe! When I clicked the link for your carrot cake recipe, it led to your darling bunny rolls instead. Could you update the link with the cake recipe instead? Thanks! Have a Blessed Easter!
