GREAT RECIPES FROM OTHER SOURCES

I am all about keeping cool these days… these mid-summer sweltering hot days! I hope you are running for the shade, cranking up the AC and eating foods that are cool and light!

Here are some great recipes and menu plans from last week that will help…

I could stay cool and happy eating a KIWI SANGRIA POPSICLE from THE KITCHEN IS MY PLAYGROUND! Don’t these look luscious? I’m making these for a bridal shower next week!

Keeping with the popsicle  theme, these FRUITY PUP POPS for doggies (and humans) are a great way to keep your four-legged family members cool and very happy! Stop by COZY HOME SCENES and give your pup a treat!

My friend Lisa, from THIS THAT AND THE OTHER made a delicious, simple and very upscale BBQ SHRIMP BAGUETTE as part of an Anniversary dinner. What a cool and lovely way to celebrate!

The Brady girls from COOKIN’ UP GOOD TIMES have a BLACKBERRY LEMON BREEZE SMOOTHIE that makes me cool just looking at it. Smoothies are my go-to breakfast in the summer, especially when it is too hot to eat!

I am on a mission to ban most bottled dressing from the refrigerators of America! Homemade dressings are fabulously delicious and once you see how easy they are to make, you will not easily drizzle from a store bought bottle again!  Doesn’t this RASPBERRY VINAIGRETTE SALAD look yummy! Head on over to BUSY MOM MENU PLAN  for this hot weather salad.

Susan, from ASH TREE COTTAGE has prepared a really scrumptious SUMMER MEAL, and she’s showing us how! So what’s on Susan’s menu… a great salad, grilled corn and a stove top bbq chicken!

Our featured menu plan this week comes from ALL IS AMAGING. Here is a little peek at what she is cooking up…Chicken Penne Florentine Bake, Parmesan Potatoes and Chocolate Roll! YUMMY!

This is probably not the place I should be visiting, seeing all this yummy food, but Pinky told me about the party, and I didn’t want to miss it. Yvonne, I am speechless! The Christmas party looks wonderful also. Thanks so much for hosting, Yvonne, and I hope it’s ok to link up two recipes. Everything looks so delicious!!

Looks like you’ve got the week planned well Yvonne. I could really go for a bowl of those clams. Yum, yum.

I’ve brought a trio of different guacamole dips and a tip on how to keep the avocado green. Thanks for hosting.

I shouldnt look at food this early in the morning! Now my stomach is telling me its time to make something this morning. The BBQ shrimp baguette looks amazing and the pops would come in handy on this soon to be 105 degree day!

Your menu looks so delicious for the week! With hubby out of town, running the kids back and forth to sports, and doing a little canning, I am trying to keep things simple yet healthy around here. It can be a challenge when just grabbing a bite and running is so much easier!

Looking forward to Christmas in July this week! I just told my hubs over the weekend I wish it were time to decorate! =)

Think I will have some grilled pizza from Saturday and probably stay away from the frozen sangria, although frozen would probably not do to me what drinkable did.

Thank you so much for featuring my Kiwi Sangria Popsicles, Yvonne! I hope you and your guests love them at the bridal shower!! Just a quick sidenote … when mine starting to melt during the photo shoot, I just stuck them in a wine glass and ‘drank’ them as a slushie. They make a fabulous wine slushie, too. :-)

    Yvonne,
All your “grillin” dishes look amazing; however it’s even TOO HOT to grill on the Prairie with these triple digits!!! I’ll keep them on file for the upcoming Autumn…and cooler temps. Thanks for hosting this weekly meme!
    Fondly,
