ON THE MENU WEEK OF SEPTEMBER 10TH
On busy weeks it is nice to have a plan. Really any kind of plan but I’m talking about a menu plan. It makes my life so less hectic and stressful if I know beforehand what to make for dinner. How about you? Do you plan your weekly menus or just wing it? Remember a plan is just that. It’s not written in stone and can be subject to change. Give menu planning a try or better yet, use my menus for yourself!
SUNDAY
I think everyone should learn how to make a beef tenderloin and have a superb recipe for it in their recipe box. It is really very very easy to make and very very impressive! Now let’s talk kitchen gadgets you must have! An instant read thermometer will help more than almost anything else to get a perfectly done roast or any meat for that matter.
This roast combines two ingredients that my Bobby is so fond of… mushrooms and parmesan cheese. He will love dinner tonight. Thanks, Half Baked Harvest!
- BEEF TENDERLOIN WITH MUSHROOM AND WHITE WINE CREAM SAUCE
- HORSERADISH MASHED POTATOES
- ROASTED CARROTS AND PARSNIPS WITH HONEY AND ROSEMARY
MONDAY
Seriously, look at this cod dish! I could almost lick the screen! Garden tomatoes, basil, garlic, lemon. Oh my yumminess! This dish is in my wheelhouse! Ashley’s blog Baker By Nature is new to me. But I think Ashley and I just might become besties!
- PAN-SEARED COD WITH WHITE WINE TOMATO BASIL SAUCE
- LINGUINI- I need something to drizzle that sauce over
- PERFECTLY ROASTED ASPARAGUS
TUESDAY
My grandmother made this scrumptious chicken as did her mother and my mother and me! I’m thrilled to be sharing it with you too! It’s easy to make and has such amazing flavor. I get hungry for it almost every week! If you make one thing this should be it!
- NANI’S SAUTEED CHICKEN
- MASHED POTATOES
- ROASTED CARROTS
- GARDEN TOMATOES
WEDNESDAY- SOUP DAY
This soup reminds me of fall! I make it with Italian sausage so it has a lovely meaty taste for a mostly pureed soup. If you have never tried butternut squash you really should. Delicious and so good for you too! I make a double batch and have it for lunches.
- ROASTED BUTTERNUT SQUASH SOUP
- GARDEN TOMATOES AND PESTO
THURSDAY
I remember when pork was so so flavorful and of course full of fat. Now? Well I do eat it but it must be bone-in to coax out the flavor. The flavor in this dish from Kevin Is Cooking, a new to me foodie blog, makes my mouth water! I can’t wait to try it!
- BALSAMIC APRICOT PORK CHOPS
- MASHED POTATOES (LEFT OVER FROM TUESDAY)
- BRAISED CABBAGE WITH ONIONS
- GARDEN TOMATOES
FRIDAY
If you like meatballs make sure to try these slow cooker meatballs. They are the best I have ever eaten. My friend Fran’s grandmother gave her her very top secret recipe before she went to heaven. And told her to keep it secret OR ELSE. After years Fran gave it to me and gave me permission to give it to you. We are just afraid we will see Grandma Lo Bianco outside the pearly gates waiting for us! Make this recipe at your own risk of Grandma Lo Bianco tracking you down too!
- GRANDMA LO BIANCO’S FAMOUS MEATBALLS
- LINGUINI WITH SAUCE
- CAESAR SALAD
SATURDAY
My kids love sushi. I like it, at least some of it and Bobby, not so much. I have all the equipment so I’m hauling it all out to make a dinner my kids will be thrilled with!
THIS WEEK’S SWEET TREAT…
Hope you have found something you’d like to make on this menu!
Have a scrumptious week!
Yummy menu!!!
How do you get the sweet treat recipe? I don’t see a title or anything to click on. I clicked on the picture, but it just gave me the photo in a different screen. Thanks.
The meatballs are definitely going on our to-do list. My husband will really go for these.
You will love them!
Love the variety of recipes. I can’t wait to try some. Thanks again.
