MY FAVORITE CHOCOLATE CHIP COOKIE

Chocolate chip cookies are probably America’s very favorite! And most of us probably have a great recipe to make them. Do you like them soft, hard, gooey, cake-like? Everyone has an opinion on the perfect chocolate chip cookie. So of course, I needed to weigh in! Here’s MY favorite recipe for a chocolate chip cookies!

My ideal cookies are crisp on the outside and a bit gooey on the in. YUM!

I like to make the cookie dough and roll it into a log, wrap it in parchment paper and plastic wrap and freeze it. When I want cookies I slice off the log (about 2/3 inch) and bake them off. Fresh homemade cookies… the BEST!

I’ve got a LOT of different choc chip cookie recipes for all my moods, but none with hot water! I’ll have to give this one a try as soon as I restock the chips. I use a cookie scoop on newly mixed dough and crowd as many as possible on a cookie sheet. I then freeze the dough balls until hard, put them in a freezer bag, and freeze until I’m ready to bake. That is if I don’t eat the dough balls right out of the freezer first!

    1. Great idea, I’ll try that!

    3. Do you thaw on cookie sheet before baking or just add baking time?

It only seems like summer just started! Happy Birthday! Enjoy what’s left of your day! ?

You are the only person, other than me, to say you dissolve the soda in hot water! I learned this from a children’s magazine 30+ years ago.

  24. You never steer us wrong on what’s yummy so I’ll definitely try these. If we freeze the dough and bake as needed do we then thaw the dough after we slice it or do we through the slices in the oven frozen? If frozen do we need to adjust the bake time?

  25. Soft & gooey! Is this recipe different than the one on the bag of Nestlé’s Chocolate Chips?

Great recipe! Made this with my 4 year old-our first time baking together. The only substitution was I mixed maple syrup with sugar as a brown sugar replacement.
