EASY VALENTINE TABLE

EASY VALENTINE TABLE-Let's set a beautiful and easy Valentine's Day Table for the ones we love!

Valentine’s Day is around the corner. Are you planning something special for someone you love? I NEVER go out to dinner on Valentine’s day. Too many crowds, prix fixe menus, and being rushed in and out! I think it is much more romantic to set a beautiful and cozy table and enjoy the evening at home! Here are a few tips for making your table swoon-worthy yet so easy to put together.

And next month we will be sharing our Easter Tables too! Make sure you visit the stunning posts at the bottom of this page.

If you are coming from Citrine Living… WELCOME! Don’t you love this gorgeous neutral dining room?

Now, let’s set a beautiful and easy Valentine’s Day Table for the ones we love!

I’m not a red-and-white-hearts-and-flowers kind of girl. So this table takes on and pastel and dreamy look! I’m using a mix of my wedding crystal, my grandmother’s wedding crystal, and my everyday dishes.

One big tip for setting an easy table is to forgo the tablecloth. Let the beauty of your table shine! My concrete table works well with the colors and feel of this romantic table.

A stack of white plates with interesting edges is the perfect place to perch a pretty napkin gathered up in a napkin ring.

I used white napkins edged with large ric-rac. These are such lovely napkins! And they deserve to have a little bling around them.

My flea market silver graces this table! If you don’t have silver or silverplate flatware and would love to have some you can find lots and lots of options in vintage shops and flea markets. Silver is sooooo reasonable now!

Did you notice that the center of the table is set and not the ends? I LOVE this cozy look. I think using the center of the table is so much more intimate than spreading out over the entire table.

Each place has a Waterford goblet (my wedding crystal) and a lovely fluted iridescent goblet (my grandmother’s wedding goblet) for Champagne and water. I don’t use these as often as I should. Nani’s goblets are almost 100 years old.

On special occasions, we should use those lovely things we have. They are not bringing us joy stuck in a cupboard!

The centerpiece was created in an oval soup tureen. No hothouse roses here! Two bunches of pretty flowers and a bit of seeded eucalyptus made an abundant arrangement. Try to stay away from roses around Valentines. They can get pretty pricey.

A low profile centerpiece makes it comfortable for everyone to see each other and encourages good conversation.

Each end of the table holds my favorite white ginger jars and mercury glass candlesticks and candles!

I hope you have lots of ideas for setting your Valentine’s Day table and celebrating it with someone you love!!!!!

Now it’s time to visit my friend Ann at On Sutton Place. She is amazingly talented and her tables are gorgeous. Go HERE for more inspiration.

  1. I’m inspired. I may set my table early. And experiment. I’ve never done that before. My china is from the 70’s and actually has a burgundy rosy flower and pinks too so I think I’ll play up the Valentines Day theme. Reds also go and I was about to donate my red PB mercury glass holders but you’ve given me inspiration to play around with them on the sides of my rectangle table. I’ll get up my crystal. Polish my Grandma’s silverplate. Use whatever camellias are blooming!! They are the most beautiful flower for winter. And free!! Ohh I’m enthused!! One of my plants has long trailing leaves that are a fuzzy darker variegated green with hints of burgundy and the other side is the color of eucalyptus. I have napkins. But napkin rings. I think they’ve disappeared over the many years. But yes!!! You’ve inspired me!!! I think a camellia floating at each setting would be ❤️ ly also!!! I had no enthusiasm and your post did all that?. Thank you.

I’m loving your beautiful tablescape. You inspired me to get my waterford crystal candle sticks and my crystal fruit out of the china hutch and use them in my own tablescape. Thanks for the inspiration Yvonne!

  6. Yvonne, I love your blog and I read it each day! I love your designs and the tablescapes are just stunning. Thanks for giving us bloggers a run for our money!

So refreshing and hopeful of spring! I had gone red and white for Xmas and had not wanted to repeat for February. Needed an excuse to put out the good stuff–we’ve been supercasual and cozy this cold January!

Oh, Yvonne, it’s another winner!! I love the fresh feeling of all the white and silver and your special goblets are so lovely, but the soft color and gentle blush tones in the centerpiece really knock it out of the park! Great tips, as well!!

I love that your designs whisper Happy Valentine’s Day as opposed to screaming red hearts. I use crystal and mercury glass too. You have a beautiful home.

Easy and very elegant! Thank you for the inspiration.

  18. I loved the Valentine inspiration, so beautiful. I hope you will also soon be sharing areas of your new home even while they are in progress. It helps us understand the process of decorating, the areas to focus on, what things to purchase first, etc. I’m sure it will be as lovely as Stonegable.

  19. Julie Ries says:

    Hi Yvonne!
I have enjoyed your decorating ideas so much! Would you be able to share the name of the fabric, or where it was purchased, that you used on your dining room side chairs? I believe it’s the same fabric that was on the bench before it was slipcovered.
    Thanks much,
    Julie

    1. Hi Julie, the fabric on the bench was from Calico Corners. However, it is not in stock any longer (bummer). Sorry!
