CREATIVE WAY TO USE WREATHS
I LOVE LOVE LOVE Wreaths!!!! Especially Christmas wreaths! A Big, beautiful, full, be-ribboned wreath on a front door makes me swoon! What an amazing Holiday welcome to all who visit! Small wreath in unexpected places have the same effect on me! Wreaths are such a time honored symbol of Christmas. I use wreaths all over my home at Christmastime. They are an easy way to spread Christmas cheer!
Before I begin today, I want to let you know that I am being featured at AN EXTRAORDINARY DAY, a beautiful blog authored by Diane! Please stop over there and see my FARMHOUSE CHRISTMAS VIGNETTE. Please stop by An Extraordinary Day, leave a message and say HI!!! After you read this post, of course!
Now let’s talk about WREATHS!!!! And creative ways to use them…
I hang wreaths from my glass front kitchen cupboards each year. The wreaths often change, but I’ve had a love affair with black and white ribbons at Christmas for the past few years. The picture above was from last Christmas… and the picture below is from this year! This year I choose long, spiky pines!
This year I also hung wreaths on the back of my kitchen chairs. A fun and unexpected Christmas decoration!
Wreaths and shutters are made for each other! Here are a few examples!
Wreaths work wonderfully on windows… indoor or out!
I love boxwood wreaths. Here, preserved boxwood wreaths hanging on a mirror and down the main stairs! Again, loving the black and white check with greens! I using a lot of “love” in this post, aren’t I!
Wreaths on mirrors look gorgeous. Especially if they have a little bling! You won’t believe how I made the wreath below! Look for a post about it next week!
Now here’s a fun wreath made from Coffee Filters! Something different and fluffy! Click HERE to see an easy and doable diy!
Beds look amazingly festive with a wreath hanging from the bottom or top of them!
And don’t forget a few Wreath Pillows… they look so pretty on sofas, chairs and beds!!!
But don’t just hang wreaths up on walls, windows, doors, banisters, shutters or other vertical surfaces…use them to sit under other decor such as dishes, candles, trees… well, almost any decor that needs a little “fluff”.
My very very favorite thing to do with wreaths? Make a gorgeous live wreath from an old motley fake one! This is so so easy!!! They certainly have that Christmas WOW factor…. and no one will know how you made them! Click HERE to see how!
I hope this has inspired you to use wreaths creatively this Christmas!!!!

Thank you Yvonne for so many inspiring ideas. I won’t be doing them all this year but I’ve pinned for next year. We leave for southern clime right after Christmas so I don’t want decorations around for months 🙁 I need simple, elegant, and easily stored. Quite a request isn’t it?
I must say, there was not one wreath that I did not like! Each and everyone one is gorgeous and so unique for each and everyone’s decorating style. I too am crazy over wreaths and I am going to add a brand new bow on my front door wreath and a few new ornaments as well.
Thanks for the inspiration, Yvonne.

Wreaths aren’t just for for any more!
All of the wreaths are lovely. I like the idea of having the bow one pattern of check and the hanging bow another check, and especially love the black and white with the wreaths. We always think of a wreath as being bid and full, but the wreath that you have hanging on the door with limited greenery and more adornment is striking. Love them all.
So many lovely scenes in your post today; could you share where that lovely pillow with the wreath was found? Just lovely and perfect colors for our home.
Hi Julie,
I got the pillow from my local Pottery Barn Store. Here’s another fabulous site for wreath pillows: https://www.etsy.com/shop/ElliottHeathDesigns
Love your wreaths, Yvonne. So many wonderful ideas. I, too, love wreaths and I think I have a wreath, of some sort, in every room! And I also like black/white check! Love your ribbon and black/white wrapping paper! Your home is always so stunning.
I love wreaths! Making them and decorating with them! Nice collection that you have shared.
I can’t get enough! Thank you!
Thanks for the great ideas ,wonderful.Have a wonderful day.
I love wreaths too and I made my first pine cone wreath. I’ll hang it on my front door during the winter after Christmas. Your holiday touches to your home are beautiful.
So many ideas, so little time. Guess there’s always next year! Thank you Yvonne and have a Merry Christmas!
What a beautiful site. Everyone is so talented on Pinterest! Thank you for sharing. Peace and happiness this holiday season ♡
…and to think I just thought wreaths were for the front door! Another project to work on! Thank you again for your great ideas.
What beautiful wreaths and I love your ideas! I’m not a crafty person but i am going to try some of your ideas. My question is, how are you attaching the wreaths to the door when it’s just a piece of fabric? I would like to put one on my door that is glass with the pattered fabric but not sure how to do that when I’m opening and closing the door. Thank you in advance for your help. Love your site!
I have a hook in my door. For a glass door, you can get large suction cup hooks. See them here:https://amzn.to/2WmKzEu
