BOXWOOD AND STARS CHRISTMAS TABLESCAPE

BOXWOOD AND STARS CHRISMAS TABLESCAPE

Christmas meals are for making memories and lingering conversation and laughter and love and thankfulness and scrumptious food and family and friends! Christmas dinners at StoneGable are easy and cozy and candle lit and a time to savor the blessedness of the day! Our Christmas starts early in the day and ends well into the night. Dinner is later in the evening and much more intimate and quiet than the hustle and bustle of the day. My table sets the tone for the rest of Christmas evening!

These bloggers are known for their amazing, sumptuous tablescapes. I am so honored to be in their company! You can find the links to their Christmas tablescape at the end of this post.

This year’s Christmas theme is “STARS”!  I made dozens of these glitzy little dimensional stars to decorate my tree and table!

A vibrant boxwood wreath greets each person at the table.  Any of our guest can take these home as a remembrance of Christmas 2015.

A red and white rimmed salad plate rests on a embossed edged white dinner plate! That little pop of red make the whole table look more vibrant!

To set a pretty Holiday tablescape, we really don’t need Christmas tableware. None of my dishes have a Christmas motif. I use the red and white rimmed plates for Valentine’s Day, Memorial Day and 4th of July! It’s all about the other details on the table! If they have a seasonal flair our plates will take on the same “feel”.

To add to the tables festive look I added a Christmas ornament in the stemmed bubble glass…

…And  small glass bowls of ornaments and greens. I’m so fond of repeating elements on a table! It pulls everything together!

The table is strewn with snow! Don’t have a Christmas table runner? No problem, make one with faux snow! That’s just what I did on this table. I might have gotten a tad enthusiastic and sprinkled snow a little liberally! But hey, it’s Christmas!!! Most of the snow runs down the center of the table.

Three boxwood plants become part of a long running centerpiece down the length of the table.

Mercury glass is repeated on this tablescape. Pretty embellished mercury glass pots hold the boxwoods.

I love the detailing on these pots! Mercury glass and snow work beautifully together, albeit faux snow!

Chunky mercury glass candlesticks are positioned down the center of the table giving everything a magical glow when lit for dinner! Make sure you stop back December 22nd to see a Candlelight tour of StoneGable. This table literally sparkles!

  4. STUNNING, but of course, another Yvonne creation. Those mercury pots are gorgeous, can you share where they were purchased, although I am sure you probably had them for a while.

    1. Hi Leona,
The pots are new. You can find them at the Pottery Barn. They are a worthwhile investment.

      1. Vicky from Athens says:

Thanks so much! I’ll be watching for it!

  8. Really find the constant pop up advertising extremely annoying. No longer wish to receive email from stonegable. Sorry.

    1. Sorry to hear that Darlene! If it weren’t for these ads StoneGable could never exist. It takes a lot of money to publish StoneGable every day and I could never do it on our home budget. I need the revenue from those ads to produce StoneGable. You have no idea the cost nor should you. Most people have no idea of the funds it takes to keep a blog alive and the hours I work every week (at least 60 hours a week)! I am very grateful for a way to make enough money to bring my wonderful readers the best blog I can create for you. I hope you reconsider and think of the ads as a way you can visit and read StoneGable daily.

      1. Mona howe says:

Someone not willing to see the pop up ads shouldn’t be on a blog. I am inspired daily by you and I think your taste is exquisite!! I wish for you continued success and hope you get a multitude of sponsors that may actually provide you with riches.

      2. I’ll take the ads any day to be able to enjoy your beautiful blog! I don’t find them obtrusive at all though so I’m not sure what the issue is for some readers.
Thank you, Yvonne, for your hard work sharing the creative, thoughtful and inspirational beauty your blog brings in to my life each day!

  29. Hello Yvonne,
I have searched the web looking for a good quality faux boxwood ball ( as shown in the above post) and looked where you said (in your response to Kay). Could you tell me the exact brand that you bought?? I want to purchase some t use in my decorating, even in my spring. Thank you so much.

  30. Sandi Ekholm says:

Yvonne, I love following your blog—always uplifting.
What a beautiful tables scape—just a huge word of caution—if one has pets/esp. dogs—be careful w/snow & flocking—it is very dangerous if a pet eats it (my 2 eat everything on the floor)!!!
Sending loving greetings for a beautiful season as well as a SAFE one.

  31. Inspiring and such a lovely use of color. I appreciate that you are so willing to help readers find these products. Thank you for your generosity. Have a Merry Christmas!
