I saw my first Robin Redbreast yesterday. This is a very big deal! I’ve been on robin watch for a couple of weeks now. Seeing the robin let me know that even though there is snow on the ground, spring is coming soon. And when my mantel is decorated for spring… well that’s another sign too…
I am thrilled to be part of…
This year I kept to my signature white, black and neutral theme and added some fun spring elements!
I have what I call my “default” mantel. Sorta like a default setting on a computer. It works with my modern farmhouse style and can be changed here and there, changing with seasonal decor! Here is what my winter mantel looked like…
You can see more about my default mantel HERE.
For spring, I added some adorable nest plates on black and white ribbons to the black shutters…
And put some pretty realistic spring branches in the pitchers. It’s so important to use great faux blooms. Here’s a post about HOW TO MAKE FAUX BLOOMS FABULOUS.
A small nest was wedged into a black frame and put in front of a canvas I made with a definition of nest on it. This was such an easy diy! I’ll be showing you how to do it soon! To give this little nest vignette some much needed height I put it on a couple of burlap covered books!
One of my favorite spring decor things to do is to put little nests on candlesticks. I chose a white chippy candlestick to elevate an embellished nests.
I made a spring banner using burlap webbing and chalk paint. I love these easy-to-make banners! It’s hung from the top corners of the chippy window and gives a little height to the mantel decor!
This year black and white with neutrals… and a touch of green… works for Spring! At least, at StoneGable!
