10 MINUTE SUMMER VIGNETTE
Don’t you love easy, practical, functional and oh so pretty decor for summer? I think I hear a resounding YES!!!
So let’s get those dishes out of our cupboards and play! I created a very easy summer vignette for my kitchen table… and it only took about 10 minutes to put together!
Today is 10 MINUTE DECORATING… THE SUMMER EDITION! Make sure to check out all the great 10 minute ideas from some of my favorite bloggers at the end of this post!
I love love love using dishes in decor! For this summer vignette, I pulled out lots of white dishes from my cupboards and arranged them on a chippy wooden tiered tray that I found at a local shop. If you’d like to make a summer vignette for your kitchen table and don’t have a tiered tray a big basket or flat tray will work just as well! Be creative!
If you’d like to make a summer vignette for your kitchen table and don’t have a tiered tray a big basket or flat tray will work just as well! Be creative!
Galvanized metal and white dishes work perfectly for summer! This vignette is not only meant to be attractive but it’s very functional! Functional and fabulous… two words I love to hear together!
I collected some practical items that we use at mealtime and included them together in a vignette! You don’t need fancy or trendy or new things to make a great 10 MINUTE summer decoration especially in the kitchen!
We love to eat soup… even in the summer! Three white soup cups (one was in the dishwasher) are easy to grab when I make our favorite soup or even salad! YUM! After we use them they will get washed and go right back on the tiered tray! The soup cups came from World Market years ago and are a staple in my kitchen!
How fun to use white handled flatware all summer long! Forks, knives, and spoons are separated into three galvanized containers! It’s so easy to set the table! I have two sets of white flatware and mix them together!
Vintage stoneware cups are flanked by galvanized utensil holders! The cups are just perfect for a scoop of ice cream with all the fixins!
Another galvanized accent is this tall, lidded, tin! Guess what I’ve stored in there? Napkins! I told you this was a functional vignette!
Here’s where I keep my readers! My favorite 2 cup measure is also from World Market. A great place to keep a small stash of glasses!
Salt and pepper shakers are even a part of the vignette! Who knew such simple things could work so well as decor?
It took no time at all to stack, organize and put this summery vignette together!
Just a couple colorful flowers from my outdoor planters! They add the summer to this vignette!
Now, it’s your turn! Grab a tray, basket, tiered tray, crate or anything that will hold lots of fun dishes and embellishments and start filling it up! Don’t forget to cut a few flower or herbs and create a summer vignette!

So preet…..it always amaze me with your vignettes. You must have cupboards full. Pottery Barn should hire you as a stylist> What fun that would be 🙂

Pretty!! I like the cup for the readers, we are always looking for ours around here!!
Yes – FABULOUS & FUNCTIONAL Yvonne! Love love love it. I have my eye on your soup cups too. Those are great. Thanks for another terrific round of 10 Minute Decorating!
Oh my goodness! How lovely and functional!
I am definitely going to be using this idea as soon as we are unpacked from moving.
Thank you!
I think the readers are my favorite thing I always need them in the kitchen and hate seeing them lying about!
I love the way you use dishes as decor. Wish I could, but I don’t want dishes out, not even on open shelves. But I love the look in magazines or in other peoples homes. I have two adult daughters, one has some open shelves. The other daughter is like me, every thing put away.
So cute! Love stuff like this!
I can never find my readers, great idea! Very pretty vignette, Yvonne! Blessings, Pam @ Everyday Living
You’ve convinced me that I simply “must” find a tiered tray so that I can recreate this gorgeous display you’ve created! You’re always full of great ideas and fabulous tips … thank you!
You do have a knack! Love the look… Wondering where you find the galvanized containers … Any suggestions?
Beautiful idea! I need to pull out my tiered tray and get started! I love the combo of white and galvanized items!!
What a lovely collection of dishes! And they pair so perfectly with the galvanized metal and those bright pops of colour with the flowers! Just gorgeous Yvonne!!!
I’ve been searching forever for a tiered stand like yours!! Stunning! Love how you styled all the white with the galvanized metal – the perfect neutral summer color combo! Genius tip to store napkins in a lidded container 🙂
I look forward to you everyday. We bought a fixer upper house and I am getting great ideas for our “new” spaces. I can’t wait for tomorrow’s post since I am stuck on what to do with the porch. Thanks for all.
