Your face is usually the first thing people see that makes an impression so smile to greet the world! It does not cost a thing, is good for your facial muscles and will also change your attitude too.  When you go about your day take notice of all the grumpy looking people all around! A smile works wonders for your skin… and the rest of you and others too! Isn’t this darling young girl’s smile so beautiful?

An additional note… some pretty bright lip color might help you smile more too!

MOISTURIZE YOUR BODY MORNING AND NIGHT

6 TIPS FOR TAKING CARE OF YOUR SKIN-Let's keep our skin looking beautiful and healthy no matter what age!

You should see my mother’s skin! She won’t let me tell you her age and her beautiful skin does not give it away. I can remember as a little girl my mother religiously adhering to her morning and evening skincare regime.

Your face is worth the best skin care products you can find. Be gentle with washing your face. Don’t scrub ferociously. Find an easy to do skin care regiment. If it has too many steps or products you might not follow them.

I use Obagi for my face. I get it at my local skin care doctor. The products can be purchased online but you will need a Rx for the Retina A cream.

Make sure you moisturize your body every day too. I like to get out of the shower still wet and use a thick, emollient lotion or homemade whipped body butter.  And again at night, I slather on the homemade whipped body butter paying attention to my legs, arms, and feet.

I make the most A-MAZING whipped body butter. I found it at WELlNESS MAMA and I just love love love it. It smells divine and is totally natural. And I really enjoy making it… and giving it as a gift! This is one fabulous way to keep your body feeling silky smooth.

Here’s the easy recipe…

I got the ingredients for the Body Butter from Amazon. The butter is light and fluffy. When I put it in the mixer I got busy and over mixed it. But it works just as well!

DRINK LOTS AND LOTS OF WATER

6 TIPS FOR TAKING CARE OF YOUR SKIN-Let's keep our skin looking beautiful and healthy no matter what age!

I am a huge water drinker! Keeping bodies hydrated with water is beneficial not only for skin but for brain function, alertness, weight loss, nutrient distribution and more. And it is so refreshing. Add some lemon, other fruits, and herbs to your water if you are not a fan of drinking it plain.

USE SUNSCREEN ALL YEAR LONG

Don’t go out without sunscreen, period! Enough said!

PROTECT YOUR HANDS

6 TIPS FOR TAKING CARE OF YOUR SKIN-Let's keep our skin looking beautiful and healthy no matter what age!

Use garden gloves, rubber gloves, and winter gloves. My hands look my age because I did not follow this tip very well. Learn from me and use those gloves!!! You bet I use them now!

Here’s another great tip when using gloves… moisturize before putting your hand in your gloves and you will have softer hands when they come of out of them!

EAT HEALTHY AND TAKE YOUR VITAMINS

This sounds easy, but not always easy to do!d We all know how important a good diet is!

I take Juice + capsules every day and they are so good for my skin!!! Even when I’m not eating as healthy as I should, I am getting the whole food goodness of 30 fruits and veggies and healthy grains!

I have made an extra effort to eat foods that are good for my skin like green and yellow veggies, nuts, dark chocolate (oh, YES!), Omega 3 rich fish, strawberries and more!!!

Because I’m not a big breakfast eater, I usually have a Juice + shake and add some etra frozen fruits or a couple of TBS peanut butter powder in the AM. Shakes save me because I would easily go without breakfast. And going without breakfast is a big no-no!

My daughter in law Abby puts kale in her shakes but I’m not into drinking kale!!!

I want my skin to look as good as my mom’s when I am her age! How about you? What are you doing to keep your skin healthy and beautiful?

  1. Great advice. I am a huge fan of face oil, to anyone who hasn’t tried it, it certainly sounds odd, putting oil on our skin and to start with I was very wary, but I have to say a year of face oil and my skin has never looked better or felt so soft, I am a total convert, they key is to massage it in very well and only use a tiny amount.
