I know yesterday was Ground Hog day… and that horrid little vermin predicted 6 more weeks of winter.. but aren’t most of us ready for Spring? Today I’m sharing 5 easy tips to bring early Spring to your table!
Five little ways you can add harbinger’s of Spring to your table and home…
1. ADD POTS OF HERBS TO YOUR TABLE AND DECOR…
Herbs… they smell fabulous, are easy to find and bring some green life to our tables and kitchen! Herbs can grow indoors in the right conditions and bring the sweet smell of warmer days along with them!
Put them in little whitewashed posts. And don’t forget to snip them and use them!
Stop back on Saturday… I ‘m sharing my winter into spring indoor herb garden!
2. USE LOTS OF STICKS AND TWIGGY ELEMENTS
I never pass up a great stick, twig, willow ball or branch! They can be used to give a natural or brambly feel to decor!
Perfect for early Spring!
Twigs and twine are great for tying up herbs in pots!
Willow balls in nests are ideal for this time of year!
And now’s the time to switch from cloth placemats to more organic versions! This placemat reminds me of a nest!
3. Add A Little Green To The Table And Decor…
Nothing will brighten up your table and home like a pop of green!
Green added to black and white is so so sassy!
And greens added to white and natural browns have a very organic soft feel!
4. START FORCING BRANCHES… REAL AND FAUX
Who says you have to wait until late March or April to enjoy blooming branches! Force them now or buy great faux branches and use them liberally!
Put a little green moss in the bottom of faux branches… great look!
5. DIG OUT THOSE NESTS!
Nests work all year long, but right now they are such a welcomed sight! It is NEVER too early to display nests! They are adorable and are the quintessential spring “thing”!
Fix early spring blooms around a nest…
Add them to your dishes and displays…
And they look perfectly at home on a well placed branch.
As I’m writing this it is snowing and blowing outside. I love the snow, but I’m ready for Spring and all the life it brings!
It may be winter outside, but inside spring is in the air… and on the table… and around the house!
