My very favorite season is fall! I love the crisp air, the pretty colors and all the fabulous fall decor! It’s a toasty, warm, cozy season! Roasting marshmallows and football…. and decorating!!! Can I make a confession? I don’t always feel like dragging all the pumpkins and leaf wreaths and bags of acorns up from the basement to decorate every nook and crannie of my home. So this fall I’m thinking of ways to to add easy and natural touches of fall to StoneGable without going overboard and doing a whole bunch of work! Sound impossible? Just keep reading…
This sweet and soft fall decoration only took 5 minutes to make and will last until Thanksgiving!
Remember we are keeping it “5 minute” simple today. Nothing elaborate or time consuming!
I started with a mercury glass footed bowl, some Pee Gee hydrangeas from my yard and a faux white pumpkin. I added just enough water to the bowl to keep the stems of the hydrangeas wet and arranged them in a circle around the rim of the mercury glass bowl.
Then I sat the pumpkin on top of the hydrangeas! As the water evaporates the hydrangeas will dry. I’ll have this sweet and simple fall arrangement until I am ready to replace it with Christmas decorations!
I liked it so much I made another one using an urn and a larger pumpkin!
Just think of all the options! Different bowls, different berries, flowers, twiggy things. Faux or real! What combinations can you come up with in 5 minutes?
